Metrocake: I use it for longish, single-page posts and it works like a charm. I had no complaints with Greymatter, but MT lured me away with its interface and various bells & whistles (changing dates on posts, synching up with a text editor, email notifications, pop-up comment windows, ability to access any number of logs from one page, etc.). Drop me a line if you want some more info on setting it up for a journal-type site.

Unless he's suckered some high school girls to pitch in (and I wouldn't be surprised if he did), it's still just Andrew running Pitas and Diaryland all by his lonesome. I have no idea how he keeps them running for free but we're probably all better off not knowing.

What's wrong with the subscribe feature in IE 5? I've flagged twenty-odd sites in my bookmarks and run a check now and then. Takes about ten seconds to see which ones have changed since I was there last. Seems relatively painless.
