It seems at the moment, that the US President will not change and will last another four years. I'm going to admit that I considered it a small bonus that if there was a victory for the contender, there was a glimmer of hope that the culture of MeFi
might have shifted away from politics. Do you think that would have happened? We have another four years ahead of us...is it time to finally bury the dead horse and just admit, yes, the Blue is (and perhaps has always been) a community
political weblog now? There's always AskMeFi I say.

Time to stuff the Ballot for the 2003 bloggies and get Matt some tickets to SXSW. At the very least, let's get him a Lifetime Achievement Award over Kottke and Anil. Brilliant post that is thoughtful and worthy of discussion, but is it appropriate for Metafilter? The link rules in Metafilter, and the links are just regurgitations. It reeks of discussion board. Granted, others have gotten away with unworthy links just to talk about their soapbox issue in the past. Should this be an exception?

I'm sorry, I'm new here.
Did I do something wrong? I realize I derailed the thread from the start (for that I apologize), but somehow I became the poster boy for two warring sides in a flame war riddled with insults and heated emotions. I like to think I tried to maintain a civil discourse at the beginning, unfortunately I went to sleep when it got really nasty. Should I have not posted at all? What went wrong here, I would like to know for future reference.
