Not so weird. FFF is pretty loudly anti-US (not that it bothers me), so posting bad news about the States doesn't seem that out of character.

Scarabic has by far the best comment on the situation. What makes the site effective and uncomfortable is that it is daring to speak about white people as a group that can be studied and commented upon, whereas it is the single largest privilege of white privilege that we get to be normal or generic americans not reducible to race while everybody else is a distinct subset of that. Yeah, I tend to agree actually. Mainstream culture is American culture and it can belong to everybody and everybody can have a part of it. Nonetheless it tends to privilege white skinned people. Among other things, if I were judging the behavior of someone from a different country, I'd try to be a little circumspect. After all, there might be things about the culture you don't know.
