One of my PCs running Windows 2000 Professional has been a stable workhorse for several years. However, beginning a few days ago, it has not been booting properly - it heads to the CMOS/BIOS set up menu after the memory test rather than log in.

Table tennis has recently become a competitive sport in the office I work in. There are over 250 of us; word has it I am in the the top 5. This is coming down to a girls vs. boys thing (i.e. men in IT and Marketing). How do I win, or at least put on a good show? Oh, and I'm the girl.

Remedies for opening up a congested ear canal? I've had a sinus/ear infection this week, and am currently taking both a decongestant and an antibiotic. My head seems to be clearing nicely, except my inner ear on one side which feels completely blocked. I'm trying hot compresses and steam. Are there any other suggested methods to clear this up at home?

I'm combing the web for a substantial, well-designed titanium necklace from a reputable online store. Pickings seem slim, and googling turns up more chaff than substance. Simple link design with some heft and a T-bar clasp are preferred. Anyone here seen such a beast?

I've a hunch a similar question has been asked here before, but Googling doesn't turn up anything specific. I'd like assistance understanding the commonsense guidelines for paying an out-of-state parking ticket, since cash is a scarce commodity and we misread the meter. In a nutshell, I'd pay without question if i could spare the hundred, but want to understand the consequences if I can't. Will it affect my credit, in-state DMV standing, or anything else? The ticket was issued in Washington DC, if that is of any import.

A friend has beeen in what she thought was a committed long term relationship over the past couple of years. However, he said he planned to be on his way to her a couple weeks ago, but dropped out of contact soon after. Unfortunately, this has happened before, and this time she finally caught a clue. It's very likely she's not the primary relationship, and he's been using her to cheat on someone. Given past patterns, it's also likely he will get back in touch, and may show up on her doorstep.
This is not an acceptable situation. Aside from the obvious - avoid any contact - what else can she do?

I'm new to the wonderful world of DVDs, and am at a bit of a loss. A friend recently installed a PD dual format drive on my Win2000 machine, and successfully burned a test disc. However, when I go to play a purchased DVD, I receive an error message stating that I don't have a compatible encoder installed. I could choose and install one, but quite frankly, I'd be picking one at random. Help me out and suggest a good one? If more system info is needed, please just let me know...
