Clearly unprotected
It could have been worse, someone might have tried to take it through customs and had it confiscated. Then we wouldn't even be allowed to know if it was missing or not.

Watching the Growth of Walmart Across America
Soon there will be a Wal-Mart inside every Starbucks. Inside the Wal-Mart will be a McDonalds containing a Starbucks. That Starbucks will in turn contain itself, and the circle will be complete.

Fast Food Apartheid
"Sorry poor people, you're too dumb to feed yourselves. We'll decide what you can eat. Also, please report for forced sterilization, as you obviously don't deserve to reproduce and wreck our beautiful genes."
Oh America, you were once so beautiful, such a bright ray of hope in an oppressed world yearning to be free. Look at you now. You've changed, and you are ugly.

Please tell me in which year/month that so-called ray of hope happened. I'm dying to know.
So if McD's served out their crap on plates and took orders tableside, would they qualify as a sit-down restaurant?
I'm not saying that fast food is good food, I'm saying that the idea that anyone has any right to stop someone from doing what they want to their own body is abhorrent to me. Let people be fat, thin, healthy, sick,... [more]

Bring in 'da statistical noise...
How do we know that the world hasn't already ended, and that we're not just living in a ripple in space-time propagating laterally in n-dimensional space?

Jetpack!
Don't think of it as a jetpack, think of it as a velocity-accelerator for recumbent bicycles!

Also, if we apply Moore's Law to this situation, in 5 years it will the size of a pencil and be able to lift an aircraft carrier!

Word Withdrawal
It's a BOOK OF FACES, why can't you see that? WHY?!?!?!
although, I suppose we should be grateful it's not a book of faeces.

What Muslims Really Think
<sarcasm> I support any study or survey that combines one billion people into one homogeneous group. It makes it easier to figure out who I'm talking about when I say "them". After all, I imagine they're all identical killing machines worthy of nothing but the most hideous end. </sarcasm>

The Genealogical Revolution Will Be Digitized
The Mormons' interest in genealogy stems from their belief in baptizing the dead by proxy.
While that is not false, it's not the primary motivation behind it. The motivation comes more from Latter-day Saints views on the family relationship being eternal, and that knowing who you 567th grandfather is is just as important as knowing who your cousins are. I won't get into the doctrine and all that, but I just wanted to say that it's much much more... [more]

Raise one for the red lantern

Second Suns and Planets X
If we had the ability to turn Saturn into a star, we would probably already have the ability to turn a baseball into a star. Why go so far away when we could stay home and do the same thing?

So can we alter it to eat radiation and poop oil? Because honestly, that would solve pretty much everything.

Googles social interface
Exactly. If it ain't broke, and really, it isn't, don't fix it. One of google's initial strengths was it's incredible simplicity. For the most part, they've held on to it. Don't blow it now.
Apparent simplicity. Google is all kinds of complex under the covers, but it makes it look easy. That's why it's so good at what it does.

Lol, the first link states that these methods won't replace traditional science. Don't they realize that science has already been replaced by SCIENCE!
