I'd just like to point out that botox has medical uses beyond the cosmetic. Treatment for cerebral palsy in children for example.

dg, you need to clarify that the Australian government is limiting the number of IVF cycles that qualify for taxpayer subsidy via Medicare, NOT the number of cycles available if the couple can fund the procedure themselves.

There were some posts up at the CJ forums last year from a woman who claimed she was certain BTK was her father. She hadn't gone to the police because he was a senior figure in the church and she doubted anyone would believe her. Plus she was terrified of him.

I haven't been able to track the thread down again, and its probably just a coincidence but still, it's creeping me out.

Whoa. Tough crowd.

I found it moving and fascinating, one of the most harrowing things I've read.

I can understand people questioning its authenticity as that is pretty much the knee-jerk reaction over any confrontational blog atm. The suggestion was that a heroin addiction, if granted the guaranteed access to consistent source, allowed the user to function pretty much as normal, unlike an alcohol addiction. spazzm: drugs are a freaking minefield. My very conservative but competitive mother took "dexedrine" in the sixties to help her study. Decades later I take "dexedrine" and go to a dance party.

Same substance, very diferent social connotations..

Hankins : The penguin in question was in Japan. It had become tangled in the nets of a fishing vessel and was adopted by a family in Hokkaido (i think).

Of course, my source for these facts was a "Don't Animals Do Crazy Shit" type show shown here in the UK over christmas, so I'm probably not reliable. I did a quick google but could only turn up oblique references, but that should give you something to go on.
