Ask post: Jailbreaking the iPhone 3G
I have used the pwnage tool on 2 iPhones, but not for myself for other people.

I like to keep my iPhone upto date and thats the biggest downside to jailbreaking for me.

The pwnage tool is pretty easy to use sos you should have no problems, the only tricky bit is flashing the baseband but you wont be getting involved in that so dont worry.

Ask post: Recommendation for a new (non-itunes) media player
iTunes sucks (why oh why won't it track in the listings what's playing? Am I too dumb for Steve?) but overall it sucks least for me.

Mine does track what is currently playing, the only time it doesnt is when im flicking through playlists looking at other tracks. Then to flick back to tracking i just press cmd+L

Ask post: Linux allows this mobo 2x RAM XP shows; can I VM XP and split it?
Have you checked on the motherboard manufacturers website? As this sounds like it could simply be a problem with the crucial tool more than anything.

XP does not start having memory issues until you hit the 4Gb mark.

Ask post: How can I sanitize my laptop before turning it in?
if they are anything like the IT department I work in. We dont have time to snoop around what files you had on your laptop.

Its company policy as soon as its handed in it will be wiped and imaged, if it is to be re distributed.

Or smashed up into little pieces if not.

However if i received a laptop that had been wiped I would start thinking what is this user trying to hide.......

Ask post: Do weight training supplements do anything -- good or bad?
If you want to get cut and lean, you need two things a great diet you can easily stick to and some intense workouts.

For the diet I would suggest the Zone, my current aim is to get cut and im using the Zone quite effectively. Just make sure you are getting those healthy fats.

For your workouts check out CrossFit you will never get bored and this type of working out will get you very defined. Just take a look at some of the videos and see how... [more]

Ask post: Hurry up and weight?
I would definitely say its the diet, an easy thing to follow is simply calorie counting.

With the aid of FitDay calorie counting is incredibly simple.

You could of course just stick to the diet which is the flavor of the month. I personally follow the Zone Diet which is great for fat loss but can be far more difficult than simple calorie counting to follow.

Ask post: How can I get a job at Nike "Online"
It might also be worth getting involved in some of the sites dedicated to Nike trainers. There are loads of sites out there that are dedicated to the SB's and dunks.

If its just for the love of the brand helping out one of these sites could be a lot of fun.

Ask post: Feeling like a rebound..
In response to rokusan, I am now back with a girl i dated about 5 years ago and its working far better this time around.

However the reason we broke up the first time round is I basically didn't want to settle down. There weren't any trust issues or anything the timing just wasn't right.

So second time round can definitely work but it all depends on why you split up in the first place. If it was trust issues dump his ass, as you will always... [more]

Ask post: Help me workout for the day!
I too was going to recommend starting strength, which is actually what a lot of crossfitters will recommend.

However i managed to put on quite a lot of mass by using HST. I used HST to gain size for about 6 months before going over to crossfit as I prefer their style of working out.

Also im sure you are aware but your diet will be very important if you plan to put on mass.

Ask post: Looking for fitness/exercise related websites, books, mag's
i really enjoy www.crossfit.com has some great information on diets, but they are huge on the zone diet over there.

I have tried many types of programs but found the crossfit system the best in terms of keeping it exciting and different.

At first glance the workouts can seem a little tough but you can always reduce them down a little until you gain strength

You can have seperate accounts on Mac's me and my partner do it.

As for going to Mac and regretting it, I certainly don't. But there must be someone out there that does.

There are a few things that i still need windows for [some online banking issues] so i just run XP in a parallels VM.

i am on the new version of wordpress so going on memory here.

but is it something to do with the fact your install believes the uploads folder is

http://domain.com/uploads/

This would allow the file to be uploaded but you would get the ? when trying to display. Unfortunately i cannot remember which setting screen this option comes under i think its something like default configuration.

the ipod UI is pretty easy to use and very easy to memorise.

as long as he is sorting out the playlists on the computer he should be fine with any ipod.

i use a nano for running and i just make sure the playlist is ready for the run.

and as a side note im legally blind as well.

Ask post: Please help me determine whether I can, in a healthy manner, temporarily reduce my percentage body fat or water weight for a big event.
you could just drop weight like fighters do before weigh in.

get in a tracksuit and sit in the sauna. anything that will cause you to sweat a LOT. can prob drop 10lbs but you will be VERY weak as you will be incredibly dehydrated.

depends how long you want the effect to last for the "event"
posted to Ask Metafilter by moochoo at 6:06 AM on July 23, 2007
i just checked your profile and noted you are male. around 15% BF your abs should be starting to show through.

so if you are wanting to look cut for this event, sweating the weight out will give you that desired look.

its probably worth reading the small print as well. even though you are paying for 8Mb you are not guaranteed it at all.

you have to fall below a certain threshold before BT will do anything about it. i cant remember the exact figures.

i have had this arguement in the past when my internet connection seems to go insanely slow. seen as i live 200 metres away from the exchange im always puzzled when they mention distance,

1. you dont really need to do the same tweaks on OS X

2. DVD software is included as standard. you can either choose to use VLC or use perian which will allow you to play just about all the video files you can think of in quicktime

macupdate is a good source for software.

3. the macrumors forums can be quite good, any issue i have had they have solved incredibly quickly

i sold my sonos recently sonos so cant check this on my own, but it might be worth checking out if sonos still has the file limit. as it sounds like you may have a large collection, and this may come into play for you.

with my sonos i simply left my computer running which had all my storage.

however just about any NAS should work fine with wat you are trying to achieve.
