I haven't found any evidence of mothers being forced to pay child support in a case where they tried put the child up for adoption and the fathers refused to consent.

Last year, when Matt rented a venue and had a party for MeFi's 8th birthday, I couldn't go. But I vowed to attend whatever main 10th birthday celebration there is, whatever it costs me in terms of vacation days and airfare or being someone's love slave for a month in exchange for a place to stay. Really, if you see a thread going downhill, the best thing to do is to post a really good comment. Something interesting and insightful, with perhaps a supplementary link. I've seen a threads turn around on a comment I made, and it's a rewarding thing to have done.
