this is the title track off the first album from a band i've been playing with for a wee while. it's all improvised and recorded live at the bottom of a garden.
one of my least favourite carols, but still...
a short burst of a soundtrack for an imaginary and possibly crap horror film.
in which a couple of dejected double basses mutter to themselves darkly...
A song from Lucy Jane about a girl who's not very happy.
an unprepared solo for prepared double bass.
ambient electro-acoustic improv shenanigans.
piano, double bass, a rhodes piano and a mellotron wander around a bit.
a sort of constructed improvisation by watson, marsh and may
...or the same eight chords...
three double basses and a vague recollection of the tune = this.
a bit of polite fluffery...
this started out as a remix of astro zombie's minnesota porn but...
frank ifield's version of this was number one on the day i was born. i have decided not to yodel on mine.
a free improvisation - trumpet, double bass and percussion. slightly groovy near the end. sort of.
a rough mix from a recent studio session by lucy jane. i'm playing the bass. look out for the sniffing at the end.
a minimal and sombre thing. sounds made by software and double bass.
this is some noodling on a lap steel (i'm a double bassist by trade), stuck through a delay and processed a bit afterwards. it's too long (i would recommend doing your own fadeout at around 2.40), but it's sort of pretty.
