Is there any way to recharge electrostatic vinyl cling decals? You know, the kind that stick to glass without adhesive.

I stoop. I slouch. I hunch. I slump. Sitting or standing, my posture sucks. How can I fix it?

Would a consumer-grade water filter (e.g. a Brita pitcher) be sufficient to make the floodwater in New Orleans safe to drink?

The New Wave classic "Turning Japanese" by the Vapors opens with a short musical phrase signifying "stereotypical Asian music". You've heard it in many other places, usually (these days) for comedic effect. Did this phrase originate in any actual Asian composition? Or is it purely a Western invention?

Can you identify this obscure American independent film? It aired seemingly incessantly on IFC circa 1998-1999, and at the time seemed to be of recent vintage. It was shot entirely in black and white, and concerned a love triangle between a dissolute art photographer recently returned to New York City, his jaded, long-suffering wife, and the teenage girl both of them are sleeping with. The girl convinces her wealthy parents to bankroll a show of the photographer's work, which they are dismayed to discover at the show's opening consists almost entirely of naked pictures of their daughter. I should hasten to add that this was not an especially good movie.

The responses to
this question got me thinking: Why would anybody adopt children? The strong urge adoptees seem to have to return to their birth parents seems like a recipe for guaranteed heartbreak for their adoptive parents.

This art photographer got a Hollywood effects house to build him a creature -- essentially a highly detailed, articulated puppet. He photographs the puppet in vaguely unsettling posed scenes alongside human models. What is this photographer's name?

The number one movie last week was a
comedy about dodgeball that has a lot of people my age
waxing nostalgic about elementary school. There also seems to be a new televised
Extreme Dodgeball "league". There's just one problem: None of these people are playing or talking about the game I remember as "dodgeball" from my childhood.
