This (Medical Marijuana ask.mefi thread) is a good example of an ask metafilter thread where people don't answer the specific question of the poster, but still remain civil and helpful. Yay. So there's an existence proof that people can be helpful while not answering the question asked (and not fall all over themselves to be jerks).

This has been discussed before, but I think there needs to be a small and unobtrusive indicator for
deleted comments, those removed from threads by the hand of God. Today's example in the
Mr. Mixed Up Bigotry thread. [More Inside]

This thread is a
NewsFilter post in the worst way.
It is not new (Newsflash: Bush to Lower Taxes, Water Wet) or interesting. And it certainly doesn't lend itself to much discussion. I, for one, want to be subjected to Randian diatribes only slightly more than I want people posting their personal tax ephemera on metafilter. The fact that the article is from a mainstream news source only adds insult to injury.

I always thought it impolite to type in all caps -- etiquette, usability, etc. There are two posts today(1, 2) that use all caps for their links.
All in favor say 'aye'. All opposed 'nay'. I'm curious.
