Dear AskMe
I'd say this is only like, the 24th dumbest callout ever, but still well within "fuck off, asshole" territory. Go Iraq War!

MetaFatty?
These fat people will totally kick your skinny ass.
Sure, if I agree to stand in a tiny ring with them, and the ass-kicking is limited to that ring, and they don't have to chase me, and the ass-kicking is limited to them shoving me a couple feet and maybe slapping my naked ass, and they manage to make it back to the gym for nap-time afterwards.

Music.Mefi remixed
I would love to do a remix or two. Add me to that email list.
I second the direct-exchange idea, perhaps even by burning a CD of raw tracks and sending it postally.

It's on the borderline of why it isn't allowed,...
This is the second time in a week someone's openly flaunted the no-self-link policy with the excuse that there are a bunch of other links thrown in there.
Aside from spam-prevention, I thought the whole point of the no-self-link policy was to prevent MeFi from turning into a place where people just link to their own blogs. I don't want to see a post every day that's like "hey guys, I really care about this subject, here's an essay I wrote about it, and here's links... [more]

One down. [mo' in....
I was a GA Researcher from the beginning - I managed to slip in my "application" back when they were initially soliciting them. I think that it's true that people enjoy answering questions for the heck of it more than they do for money, as there's a lot less responsibility involved. I stopped trying to answer questions at GA for money when most answers started being submitted as "comments." That is, they were unpaid and didn't close the thread. There became this... [more]

Oh yeah, and the Google blanket gift was perplexing at first (it's like a towel, but made of fleece and it says Google on it?) but later became very useful as a blanket for the cat.

I'm testing out the new tabbed interface here,...
It looks like there's too many lines of navigational stuff between my browser's tabs and the actual content of MetaTalk. Maybe compress the navigational bar and the "MetaTalk is a place..." line and the MeFi tabs into something less tall?

Actually, you just need a bunch of email addresses. As already discussed, you don't have to pay for burning through all those user numbers.

What about recordings of a group where I was one of the performers? It was a non-commercial venture and I was probably the only one even recording the performance. Also, the tunes are "covers" in that that they're performances of jazz standards.

Also, what's the longest average sample length you'd tolerate before a song with samples becomes a "remix of a pop song?"
