We DO use quite a bit of voicecomm. Sometimes it's silly, when we have all talk on and everyone is trying to say something passably witty. Usually though, it's very much About The Game:
"Need a medic."
"Heavy, spy behind you, SPY BEHIND YOU DA--"
"I'll sap if you push through. Going Now. NOW."
"Need help, sniper is a spy, sapping stuff."

and holy hell, it FIGURES that NiteOwl (under disguise, even on the gray, what a fucking true-to-form SPY rat bastard he is) posts this when I'm on the road.
I've never been a spy in my entire life! (shimmers away under cloak).
Also, don't feel embarassed on the TF2 board to ask ANY and ALL questions. Honestly. Except for personal ones, unless you are talking to metamonk, he likes to disclose all sorts of info. You can't stop him, really.

BTW : i agree with stavros, this is EXACTLY the sort of thing we like to talk about AD NAUSEUM on the forum.
2)How do you jump on top of stuff as an engineer? I have seen engies jump on top of dispensers and boxes, I can't jump high enough.
You can either jump on one of your lower structures first (teleporters, sentries), or just try crouch jumping to the top of it.... [more]

May I point out the true genius that can be wrought from Gary's mod?
And $30 for a standalone? How is that steep? Isn't the going rate for a normal game ~$50? Although, I guess if you are comparing it to the free mods, then, yeah, it is steep.

Well, I dunno, there are characters that one can script and make do stuff. And then there are characters that are played by humans, taht are played against other humans. These characters must be different but balanced. Some characters must be easy to pick up, some, not so much. Now multiply that by the many weapons each character has.
I dunno, for amount of brain power/balancing/tweaking/working, HL2 seems like LESS work.
