I've run into a problem with displacing a block of text with css. II see the same behavior in IE6, IE7 and Firefox, so I gather its supposed to behave that way, but I can't work out why.

CSSPopupFilter. I adore parenthetical comments, but they clutter up my writing, so in one of my projects, I pulled them out as endnotes. Then I discovered a clever way of doing them as css popups. But am I happy? No. [mi]

Local Town Mortgages Students' Textbooks.
"[The South Plainfield school board] plans to sell nearly all student textbooks to a bank or financial institution, which then would lease them back to the district over a period of five years. The more than 2,500 books would remain in students' hands, and the move would bring a quick boost of about $965,000."

For the last couple of weeks, I've tried a vitamin drink (
Emergen-C) for the Vitamin C megadose (to kick a cold/flu) and happened to pick the flavor that also advertised "joint health" and contains Glucosamine and Chondroitin. I
think a chronic shoulder problem I have has improved. I've done the requisite google search, but so much tends to be aimed towards either selling herbal supplements (it's a miracle cure, click here to buy our product) or debunking them (all non-traditional treatments are snake oil, you gullible fools, now go buy prescription drugs like a good little consumer), I'm having trouble wading through all the agendas for an accurate answer. Airfarefilter. I already know the dates for a trip next August. It's
possible to drive (approx 12 hours), and we did drive this year, but it might be nice to fly instead. Clearly its not possible to book flights this far in advance, but starting the search for low fares early should have some advantage. What are some good strategies for finding low airfares and when should I start to implement them?

I'm in the process of trying to buy Christmas presents for my father and his wife. My father likes science fiction (hard, mostly) and I've had luck with Vernor Vinge and Neal Stephenson in the past. His wife... doesn't, although I am told she likes biographies. Can anyone recommend some good hard sf or biographies that might go over well?
