Stonestock Relentless: "The moment the kid hits the ice in number 5 is just sublime. The action, the sound effect, the "ahfuck" that the kids says. It's just, I dunno, the funniest tenth of a second ever in the history of human expression."
Agreed. There have been times where I've just watched that moment over and over while laughing uncontrollably.

Latte it Forward?
I know everyone is having a grand old time knocking this whole "cheer chain" thing because it seems to be a gimmicky marketing ploy, but it wasn't always that way.
My sister, a former Starbucks barista, had a very similar experience to these "chains" about two years ago. She made a short post about it to the LiveJournal community for Starbucks baristas here. Apparently it was notable enough for some guy to put it in this book about Starbucks. For all... [more]

I wish I could quit you, xkcd.
When I first saw the title I read it as The Electromagnetic Spetum. Needless to say, I was expecting something else. This was hilarious though.

Perpetual Kid!
Faint of Butt: "Interesting. At first glance I thought it was just a rip-off of Archie McPhee, but they've got a lot of cool stuff I've never seen. These sewer cover throw rugs are terrific."
Actually they're both selling merchandise from a company called Accoutrements. Archie McPhee is just the official retail store for the company.
The other stuff on PerpetualKid seems awesome though.... [more]

I love how he waits to kill the final boss on the left until it syncs up with the explosions on the right.

ZOMBIEGRINDER
Is anyone else's keyboard not working in Firefox or IE?
It's very hard to kick zombie ass when you can't get more ammo.

American Edit
I came across this yesterday and downloaded the first track, "American Jesus", and really liked it. Then I downloaded the rest and found it a bit disappointing in comparison.

One Red Paperclip
I did something like this a long time ago in my old youth group. We split into a few groups and each started with a penny. We then canvassed the neighborhood by the church going door to door trying to trade up. As I recall my group won by eventually walking back with a kayak.
This was just a couple hours in one neighborhood, so I can easily see getting something really good with more time and a wider area to draw from.

the very idea that you can replace organization with search is just plain stupid
Doesn't iTunes do something like that?
I thought in that case the point was to have people use only that interface for accessing their files. Just like some people prefer the iTunes interface, there will also be those of us who still meticulously sort our files.

Just the facts, please
I just went there to leave some feedback and suddenly the site displays somewhat as intended in FireFox. Links still seem to suck and there are some places where things overlap, but there's also no "IE only" notification. I guess this means there's been a big enough response to the new site.
Now to see about getting them to fix the other problems.
