From the article above:
The story could grow if the United States were to get involved because it's conceivable that if Sale and Pelletier should have won gold, Americans Kyoko Ina and John Zimmerman could have won bronze, Brennan said.7
Ina and Zimmerman placed fifth overall, why would the silver medal team moving to gold move the US team up to third? Can someone explain this to me?

I just had (a late) lunch at Chili's in Phoenix, there was a flyer there stating that all of their parent's restaurants, Chili's, Macaroni Grill, and On The Border, were donating 100% of profits today to the Red Cross.

It's a random picture, kafkaesque :) But I think I know the one you're talking about.
Marching band was intense, actually.

Okay, now I'm the moron. I blame it on my sister talking to me on the phone while I try to MeFi.
It's 0.898%.

I thought that you were charged interest based on the average balance for the month. So, even if you pay it off, you still carried an average balance and get charged interest. If all of them don't do this, they soon will I think.
none of the credit cards i've seen charge interest for your balance for the month. the interest only starts accrueing if you don't pay the full balance off when you get the bill.

A transcript from a Matt Groening interview with Loaded magazine has this:
Very good.
"No, I mean Doh! really. That's my car; somebody is breaking into my car. [He leaves, and returns two minutes later] OK. Oh, er `Doh!', I wrote it in the script as `annoyed grunt', and that's how it's written in all the scripts."
I hope that's the writer taking liberties with the spelling, though, and not Groening's... [more]

a friend of mine was reading Shakespeare's The Tempest in high school, and read the ending passage to me once. i really haven't forgotten it since, i think this would be my choice:

And what strength I have's mine own,
Which is most faint: now, 'tis true,
I must be here confined by you,
Or sent to Naples. Let me not,
Since I have my dukedom got
And pardon'd the... [more]

I don't understand your question. I guess you're referring to this excerpt:
Would you want a ranking of the top 25 interesting stories? If so, good news. In a weird way, the NY Times is now doing this, ranking the 25 by the frequency that people e-mail the stories to each other.
Aren't people e-mailing these stories to each other because they're interesting?

A Yeah. I’m a 36C, in the movie she’s a 36D, and in the game she’s a 36DD, so yes, there was some padding.
A very poignant question indeed ;)... [more]
