Metafilter needs an
NHL 94 tournament. I'll keep the records unless someone else better at clerical stuff wants to. Who wants in? (I get to be the Bruins. Cam Neely will bang in your face.)

This is a fine example of a decent question and good responses made much less satisfying because they are interspersed with responses from assholes who are just posting to see their names.

The menu bar is wacked in Firefox under 10.2. Screenshot inside.

Here's an excellent example of people pulling AskMe answers out of their asses. If you don't know Latin, don't answer.

I've been letting my inner Stalinst (the one that I pretty much abandoned in college) comment for me and it's been fun having an opposing viewpoint instead of saying "yeah, me too!" Because that part of me has all the answers where the adult tends to shrug a lot. But I've been getting hate mail for it. Which is okay, even if it surprises me that anyone cares enough to actually do that.
But that leads me to my question-- does expressing strong views that run counter to general trends
really ruin anyone's afternoon? My feeling has been that this is entertainment and no one's preconceived opinions ever change at the end of a discussion anyway. So polarity makes for more interesting angles instead of everyone nodding... [MI]

Stop
referring to yourself in the
third person,
buttwipe.
Unless you're Ricky Henderson. And if you are, prove it. And if you prove it, my sincere apologies because I do believe that you (and only you) are entitled to do that.

Can we agree not to post any more 9-11 links today? I will Nevar Forget, but it's all been said to death.
Likewise, let's have just one post on December 7th.

Can we please agree not to
insinuate that something's a double post if it's been on another community site?
Posting a link isn't some journalism competition, it's sharing something neat. The "
foo-site scooped it first" thing is irrelevant. If I cared that I waited three whole days to see some flash game, I would read other sites like this.
Please, can we comment on the link provided and only provide other takes if the commentary somewhere else is particularly insightful?

Has Boston ever had a meetup? I can't find a record of one, so I'm going to suggest it.
