When there are delays on the Underground due to a suicide, the line status message boards they have at many of the stations list the delay due to 'person under a train.' It seems to happen pretty regularly.

As much as I'm upset by this reversal, particularly since it has dealt a major blow to the rights of Americans, I think the thing I'm most upset about is the fact that Obama had an opportunity to lead and did not do it. drjimmy11: It should probably be noted that they morphed from Daughter into Another Brick in the Wall, and then added those lines onto the end. Not exactly genius, but they fit the cadence of the song.

I will almost always stick it out to the very end of a film, even if just to heckle. But Salo, or 120 Days of Sodom was a bit much for me. Might have been the shit eating scene, or one of the many ritualistic killings.

I'm not saying it's a bad movie, just more than I could take at the time. And far, far slower than you'd think a movie like that would be.

A friend who was in the military told me about some guys in his unit who had been in Somalia. They would proudly tell stories of dragging bags of "food" behind their vehicles while the locals chased after them. Once they had made the Somalis run long enough, they cut the cord releasing the "food". When the Somalis got to it, they found the bags were filled with trash.

It was San Jose - I was at the game. It would have been one thing if it was a small group of idiots booing the anthem - you've got idiots everywhere - but it was nearly the entire crowd. Particularly idiotic in this case, considering a large number of the players (and most of their stars) are Canadian.

I didn't think it was that bad - first off, they're shooting promos, which has got to be the most repetitive, boring part of their week. Secondly, it was probably shot at the end of a day of shooting, so I imagine they just wanted to get the hell out of there.

Ogre: Saw that machine on the History Channel. They had video from inside the machine, which was great. You just see this furball fly into a big foam thing, then gently fall onto a pillow and walk away. Looked like a great solution. Ogre Lawless: Apple has never been overly hot on the idea of people cracking open their own cases, very hand-holdy in that regard.

True for their consumer systems, absolutely false for their PowerMacs. Since the old beige G3s (and even before that) all you had to do to get at your computer's innards was to push a button/pull a latch and open the side of the case like a door. Doesn't get any easier than that.
