monju: Do you also refuse to read front page posts unless you can identify the poster? Or is Projects the only section of the site where you apply that standard?
posted to MetaTalk by punishinglemur at 7:30 PM on September 8, 2006
Which is not a problem. The original post is old and its single link is dead. This new post contains several links not found in the 2002 post and deserves to stay. Get over it.

So much for this: "I wanted to help kick this section off by letting everyone post their best project during the first month, and giving a small award to the project I think most deserves it. I'll give a 1Gb iPod Shuffle to my favorite project mentioned between launch and August 31, 2005, with the winner announced shortly after September 1st."

You're not losing your mind. On the preview page, this text appears below the question area:This will be the "more inside" area where you explain additional details about the question if necessary. If you use this space, don't write "more inside" to the question area, it will automatically be added for you.And below the "more inside" area, there's this:This will be the "more inside" area where you explain the question fully if necessary... jonmc, the problem isn't that you called someone out in the blue, or in that you took it to the grey. The problem is that you started it in the first place.

Maybe the nail-clipper is a MeFi member and the asker is simply trying to avoid an on-site conflict.
Maybe the person behind the hypnosis question would rather not have people know about his/her emotionally troubled past (the undealt with emotions over the suicidal friend).
On preview, it appears these are not original thoughts.
Either way, why does it matter that these were posted anonymously? We don't have quality... [more]

Why change it now? 2004 is almost over; if Matt changed it now he'd have to go back and do it again in just a few months. Best to just wait until 2005.

I'm suspicious of that Public Enemy #1 link in jessamyn's post. Copying and pasting gives me the image, but if I just click through, Mozilla warns me that the URL's redirection limit has been exceeded. It looks like they're trying to crash the system of anyone clicking through from MeFi.
posted to MetaTalk by punishinglemur at 12:49 PM on June 7, 2004
What gives is that the ads on MeFi are from Google. Until recently Google only served text ads, but now advertisers can use images. So now we have image ads here. Matt can, however, choose to not have image ads here on MeFi if he so desires.
