Xanax withdrawal isn't pretty
Taking drugs every day of your life is generally a bad idea, no matter how you slice it.
I shall pass this information on to my friends who have type-1 diabetes. I am sure they will be interested to hear it.
Don't forget type 2s. I think I'll stick to taking insulin and avoid going blind, kidney failure, stroke, amputation, liver failure, etc.

At Gamestop at Midnight? You might be a Lich King
nerds.
You say that like it's a bad thing.
The mister and I are still debating on whether or not we'll go to EBGames at midnight and pick up our copies. We have 3.5 hours to decide. Decisions... decisions...

Go ahead: diagnose yourself! Are you an Aspie?
I vote no and no. Does that make me half an aspie?
At eqsq.com - EQ is 21 and SQ is 116. I've taken other (online) tests for Asperger's and test high for a woman (as I did in this one), but never this high. It's odd that in other tests I've taken show me as more empathetic than anything else.

I can't wait for the Flickr pool of everyone opening their velociraptors.
I'm holding out for the YouTube posts.

Being the object of scrutiny, university owls say "Whom?"
I know! They need to zoom back in.
For a few seconds they were both looking straight down. Right now, right baby has hunkered down and left baby did a good wing stretch. I can't really see the nest, it looks like they're hanging out on a branch.

Slipping the mortal coil
Heartbreaking.
A long time friend of my husband retired after many years of being a mechanic. He had a stroke about two months into retirement. He lived another two years and died last year. So fucking unfair.

"I would like to bring him to the US to run tests on where his immune condition has come from, but I would need funding and to get him a visa as well as someone to cover the costs of the tests," he said.
U.S. Customs is turning back Canadians with HIV. No way in the world are they gonna let this guy in.
I really, really hope that the doc knows what he's doing and has a cure for Mr. Dede.

Put The Post In The Basket
I guess it's up to me to mention Taxi Driver. Watched it once to see what all the fuss was about. I'll never watch it again.

Oh god. Just the photo of the Model M keyboard gives me horrifying flashbacks of working in a cube farm. I'll be sending enn my psych bills for dealing with PTSD.

A Tough Two Minutes
I hadn't heard the Marvin Gaye version before. It's not surprising that he did an awesome rendition of a so-so song.

"Fix" our aggression? Don't you know that's how them Reavers started?!
Ain't logical. Cuttin' on his own face, rapin' and murdering - Hell, I'll kill a man in a fair fight... or if I think he's gonna start a fair fight, or if he bothers me, or if there's a woman, or if I'm gettin' paid - mostly only when I'm gettin' paid. But these Reavers... last ten years they show up like the bogeyman from stories. Eating people alive? Where's that get... [more]

Wake Up Cat
Heh, great video. My four cats do the same thing except for the baseball bat. The mister is continually amazed at what they do to me while I sleep through it. I think I'll pass on showing them the video; I don't want to give them any ideas about using large, blunt objects.

What goes around, comes around...
There's a really simple trick to this that makes it easy without a lot of strength to open jars. Take a fork, knife, pregnancy test kit, or any type of narrow stiff object and hit it around the edge. These dents will break the seal if previously unopen and also loosen up sticky stuff that may be making it hard to turn. It should take no effort after that to open the jar.
Cool! Now I can ditch the mister.

Dog First Aid Kit - Required Items
JetAPT - for the gas and bloating try raising your dog's food dish onto something so the dog has to stand up on his hind legs to eat. You can also try feeding him less food more often.

Who is Billy Jack?
Billy Jack is the first movie I remember seeing at a theatre (drive-in). Not exactly appropriate for a 7 year old but the movie stuck with me. I bought the DVD a couple years ago and I think I'll re-watch it this afternoon.

the iGod chatterbot
God: What happened? I don't have to do whatever you say. I have my own free will.
Me: Is there truly free will?
God: No.
Me: You just contradicted yourself.
God: Is that such a crime?
Me: No. If one thing is true, it's that God is inconsistent.
God: Are you serious? That is a hypothetical question.
Me: Was it hypothetical?
God: Ask again later. Ask German Alice if it is.
Me: I'm... [more]
