Actually, last I'd heard the numbers out of the McCain camp on this were outright fabrications, with local police giving much smaller numbers than they were.

Just use Plutor's script (which is awesome, by the way) or bookmark it. Once the Palin megathreads dip off the front page, I bookmark the last comment read and check it every day or so, updating the bokmark.

Cumbersome, maybe, but it works better than a "NOTE TO SELF READ HERE" comment, which is just noise.

And as Andrew Sullivan has pointed out, the guy she supposedly had the affair with recently filed to have his divorce records sealed - more than a year after the actual divorce... so, even if there is nothing there, there is the appearance that something is being hidden.

Watching Governor Palin stumble through that interview was painful. Couric's entire face was a mask of distaste and the tone in which she spoke to Palin was just a hair less patronizing than the one you'd use to explain to a three-year-old why they can't go down the bathtub drain. The Palin parody at the beginning was better, but nowhere near as funny as the actual footage it was based on.

I agree. I thought the Palin parody was pretty funny, mainly because about half of the lines she used were quotes from the interview. But I'm pretty sure they could have gotten the same amount of laughs just using the original interview, flashing "SHE ACTUALLY SAID THIS" on the bottom of the screen.

As far as Slacker Uprising goes....it sucks. It's a tribute video to Moore's get out the vote campaign in 2004, and how great it worked.

But it's fantastically boring, and he's preaching to the fucking choir, so... I'm really not sure what he hopes to accomplish here. At least Sicko had a message to get across.

I think its amusing that a game based on intelligent design creationism is advertised as "evolution."

Except in The West Wing the Democrats made fun of a speaker at the Republican Convention for using the corny "eight is enough" line. In real life they praised Obama for it. Apparently TV Democrats hate TV references more than real Democrats.

Well, I'm pretty sure the West Wing world had eight good years of Bartlett, instead of eight incredibly awful years of Bush. So, yeah, I can see how that would be comparable.

The problem with the Malkin link is that it's on fucking Michelle Malkin's website, and therefore automatically a bit untrustworthy. Sure, that sounds like how it could have gone down, that the hacker was a democrat looking for evidence of wrongdoing, but I don't think we have any proof he was.

If Biden was being investigated for using a freakin' Yahoo account to conduct actual government business and it got hacked there would be a Mefi post about it. No question.
