I need your comic book suggestions!
If you like the superhero stuff, I recommend Planet Hulk and the followup, World War Hulk. I wasn't a big Hulk fan, but these are both pretty epic and fun reads.

Suggestions for the Super Canon?
It might be worth reading The Marvel Encyclopedia, and the DC Encyclopedia. Also, Marvel has a comic book called the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe that is a pretty complete rundown of pretty much every character.
Of, if you prefer to read actual comic books, spend a few weekends in Barnes & Noble reading graphic novels.... [more]

Painful music
I have this exact same problem... sort of. I had a playlist of maybe 25 or 30 songs that I used to listen to while playing Diablo II 4 or 5 years ago. To this day, whenever I hear any of them on the radio, I get Bloody Foothills flashbacks.

Social Insecurity Phone Number
Seriously, do what rolypolyman and others have suggested: find a smaller SSA.
I recently had to take the written driver's test here in Minneapolis. I went to one location where the line was at least 100 people long. So I went to another location. 15 people, tops. Totally worth the extra driving time.

games like GTA
Mafia. Great, underrated game.
It's like GTA, in the 30s. However, it is a bit more plot-driven and linear than GTA, but you can roam around if you want.

Fun driving games involving mayhem
"I liked Mafia, but I couldn't get past the damned race."
I know there was a trick to getting past the race, but I can't quite remember what it was. That damned race stumped me for a while too. I think I had to change my controller setup, from standard WASD to a gamepad. I think that worked.
Or, you can just cheat: (via gamefaqs)
Okay, after you've been driving awhile and... [more]

I really enjoyed the plan. Done properly, the constant shuffling of the hostages would work to inhibit recognition of the terrorists.

It was intentional. Just one more thing left out that we get later, I think. Without the mayor threatening him, it came off as a much less malicious meeting than it was. And it kept with the James Bond rule of always using a gadget that you introduce.

Did anyone actually think that was them speaking on the bugs? I thought that was pretty weak. It sounded like a political speech, not a group of guys sitting around BS-ing over pizza.

Brokeback Mountain interpretation question?
The reason Ennis assumes the worst is because that is the way he feels about being overtly gay. Remember the earlier scene, where he mentions the two old guys who lived near him? One was killed, and left in a ditch.
He knows Jack was more thinly veiled with his sexuality than himself, with the trips to Mexico and whatnot. So he automatically assumes the worst.
I don't really know what to make of that unemotional phonecall. Did she know he was gay?

Recommendation for an Epic Adventure/Fantasy novel or series to read.
Just a couple of notes on a few of the mentioned ones:
The Dark Tower series -- is really quite good for, oh, the first 5 books or so. But once King inserts himself into his own series, it kind of lost it for me. Great up until then, though.
Both Gormenghast and Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell are slooow. Good. But slow.

Personally, I don't like to store my DVDs in a hollowed out human head. But maybe I would if they'd started out in that style.

Held hostage by Wally World
I can't tell you about Wal-Mart's, but I can explain Target's policy for you.
If there was a tornado or storm of some sort, we gather the 'guests'/customers in the back of the store. We cannot force them to stay there, but we recommend it, for safety.
If, for example, you set off the door alarm while you leave, you don't have to stick around. If you run for it, there's really nothing Target can do, except probably check the video of your... [more]

Why do RC delivery people have submachine guns?
This was just a really hard mission. I recommend skipping it for now, and coming back to the Zero missions later if you're aiming for 100%.
If you run low on cash, and could use the 5k/day it generates, gamble on horses. The third or fourth ranked horse wins 90% of the time, so making a few bets will leave you sitting pretty.

My debit card was lost/stolen and fraudulently misused.
Jon-o...you don't need the PIN to charge shit to the card. It just gets treated like a regular credit card pretty much everywhere. (If it is like mine, that is. Mine's VISA-backed, though, so that may be different. But I doubt it.)
