I admittedly am not to familiar with the issues at hand. However, it seems like uploading copyrighted content is against youtube's tos. YouTube also has a mechanism by which people can report copyrighted content, and one where copyright owners can have the content pulled. Is it YouTube's fault for allowing the initial upload (not screening each and every video uploaded), or viacom's (or other content owners') for not employing screeners to comb YouTube and the like for copyrighted material? I can't think of a scenario where cutlery would ever need to be that portable, except, possibly, if the BMI ban goes through, the 30+ crowd might need it for easier access to take-out?

Why stop there? Ban BMI 30+ from shopping where food and/or cooking appliances are sold. That'll sort the problem out pretty quickly.

I think I recently read an article about an obese guy who is trying to sue because he was charged double at an all-you-can-eat because he ate all he could.

I don't know about you guys, but 0% of my emails contain LOLcat photos.

I hate to be a stick-in-the-mud, but I loathe cheezburger-speak. I get a bit embarrassed for the writer when I think of all the effort that goes into crafting alternate spellings or pronunciations for words.

Cleavage filtering does not sound very hygienic. So either they are operating w/o a license (I am making the assumption that they would need some sort of license to manufacture/sell food) or they are falsely advertising the product (I don't see any sort of "novelty" disclaimer).

My cousin lives in a building like that. She lives in a basement apartment, next to the laundryroom. Easy access to new inventory. Once she discovered this, she never gave another gift again that didn't come from the laundryroom swapmeet.

Handing out candy at lunch struck me as peculiar, too. I can just imagine the inspirational wrappers: Eat me, god loves you. Why would a million Christians mobilize to hand out snickers to lunching downtowners?

I always see this on the "feminine products" shelf at the store. While I have never been tempted to purchase it, I am slightly tempted by the free sample offer. However, the worst case scenarios keep running through my mind and I can't help but think that if this really was a practical solution, I would have it chatter about it in places other than Metafilter.

Slightly aside from the actual point of downhillbattle.org, I hold a grudge against them because they are blog spammers. I think that most people online would be more interested in their cause (ok, I would be more interested) if they distributed their message in ways other than the old comment spam routine.
