The solution is the first Google result for "Chinese Finger Trap". If you're deleting, be consistent and delete the whole post as "easily searchable". Or are you going to be an editor now, and thus be responsible for content?

I came to the MeTa to post about this actually. IMO, there's a delicate balance to be maintained here. AxeMe has to be noisless enough to be useful, but not humorless. If the delete button is too heavy handed then people will just stop posting.

I would think that unless a post was outright libelous or beyond-the-pale offensive, it wouldn't be deleted unless flagged.

I guess what I'm saying is: Careful With That Axe Eugene.

For the record, my original post here was "I would like to be notified if my post is modified" not "my post should not have been modified"

The sentence was mocking the earlier post
My intention was not to mock, but rather to indicate that this post was like that post (which I liked), namely a collection of links about something I've been thinking about.

Don't be such a negative-nancy. Not every rating idea is bad just because it's a rating idea. Debate it on it's merits, or if you're going to result to name calling, do better than raising the spectre of SlashDuh.

MeTa post: a good man is dead, let's be snarky!...
What t r a c y said, that's what I was getting at with this post. If you don't like a FPP, call it out in the grey, don't harsh on the people who want to talk about Ray Charles, it drags to discourse down and stops other people from posting relevant thoughts.

It just seems like bad taste and poor form.

I humbly suggest that every post to AxeMe have [mi] appended to it when the "Post" button is clicked but that a new button: "Post, and there is no more inside, this is the entirety of my question" be added that will suffix [There is no more inside, this is my whole question] to the post.

I mean, it's not rocket science people!

My viewing fell off steadily until it became not worth it to pay for cable. Recently I hooked up an antenna and get a few local stations. I probably watch about an hour of tv a week.

However, I do not understand how people can be proud of not participating in the dominant form of discourse of our society.
