Ask post: Night Running?
I used to have a schedule in college that would have me up in the middle of the night so I'd end up running about about 2 in the morning. Never had any problems, but I would never run in any populated areas - downtown, college campuses, etc. I also explored the area by car at night because it's sometimes hard to judge which areas are empty that late. 10PM I think you'd still have people out most places and then you know, you have the possibility of some of them being problems..... Ask post: Christmas Lights In Vancouver?
this doesn't exactly answer your question, but if you happen to be in the area, the block at 10th Ave and Columbia St. (very close to Vancouver City Hall) is very beautiful and lit up at night year round. Huge trees, all heritage houses that been restored, etc. However, it's just one block so I don't know if it's worth the drive from where you are Photo -> here

Ask post: What happens when you don't pay your student loans
It depends a lot on what government or non government dept. is responsible for running the loan. The BC Student Loan is given out by the BC government, the Canada Student Loan is given out by the federal government and about 10 years ago, there was a short period where the government passed on student loans directly to the banks. So, she might get hassled by one and not the other, or both depending on the severity of the loan and how they feel at that particular time. In my personal experience,... [more]

Ask post: SpoilerFilter
I thought it was more like Schrodinger's cat - I believe there was a line indicating the he was never sure in Angier's dying speech. If I remember correctly, Falon tells him that true magic requires sacrifice and courage- Angier then tells him something along the lines of "courage - what do you think it felt like to climb into that machine every night and not be sure if you were the prestige or the man in the box?".

Funnily enough, me and my better half had... [more]

Ask post: Haberdashery
Jon Mitchell, the store is named "I Love Hats". (604) 739-0200. It might have something like a bowler hat, but it won't be super cheap.

Ask post: What happens when men pass each other on the sidewalk?
There is something there, but it's mostly unconcious. Also, I think it depends a lot on your upbringing and cultural background - it's a dominance thing, but not really a major one. Probably on the same level as personal space - how much different people require to be comfortable, etc.

Second that book mentioned by milkdropcoronet - it has a chapter on this kind of thing.
