For various reasons, it's significantly more convenient for me to handwash my dirty clothes/linens with detergent in the bathtub, and dry them on a rack in the living room. It's so convenient, in fact, that I'll bother to do my laundry, rather than wear rarely machine-washed and dirty clothes most of the time.

Help me think straight. I was attacked by a loose German Shepherd while out on a walk with my husband and our two small leashed dogs. What should I do next? The owner is in denial and I am concerned for the safety of myself and others. I think that if I threaten a lawsuit I could scare her into building a fence and reinforcing her door. I'm interested in getting her to take action to keep her dog enclosed or to take it to a behaviorist, not trying to win money in a settlement.

My brother is a problem drinker at best, probably an alcoholic. We're heading to our small home town to watch my alcoholic father marry his prescription drug addict girlfriend. oh, the snowflakes. I'm trying to figure out how bad this is going to be, and if there is anything I can do to keep it smooth for the wedding.

(Anon bc my husband sometimes reads askme.) My mother in law often seems to suffer from verbal diarrhea; she fills perfectly reasonable silence with inane chatter, and it gets annoying and frustrating to spend time with her (I often have a constant refrain of "Cool story, bro" running through my head). Apart from just nodding, saying "mmm hmm" in a non-committal-please-don't-bother-telling-me-more tone of voice, etc. -- is there anything I can do or say that will make this stop?

Since about a month ago I've been getting notifications (under the globe icon) about a few friends of mine about postings they've made on various pages. Without fail clicking on them yields "The page you requested was not found". I'm still listed as friends with these people - have they singled me out for partial blocking? Is there some way to avoid getting these notifications for things I can't see?
