People seem not to be at all interested in solving the problem. Just accepting that the problem is there and sucking it up isn't much of an answer, however many times the advice is repeated.

Switching from ordering by date to ordering by "most comments" or "my comments" leaves users unable to switch back. "date" remains selected, which prevents javascript noticing it being selected again and firing the page redraw.

The only way to get back to ordering by date is to go via ordering by "recent comments" which selects the option it should and allows you select what you really want.

Also a reason for this - in the problem ordering views, both "date" and "my/most comments" get marked as "selected" in the HTML. My browser (Opera) is choosing the last to be marked. Firefox must be choosing the first.
