Ask post:
How can I fix my hearing?
In agreement with what others have said:
1. Get an evaluation by an audiologist, not just a hearing aid salesperson, as s_spiff recommends.
2. Be protective of your hearing as much as you can be.
3. Hearing aids may not be appropriate now, but you may be able to learn to make better use of them in the long run if you don't wait until your hearing loss progresses too much (use it or lose it). So, get hearing tests and speak with your audiologist regularly... [more]

I also steam 7-8 minutes. My results are quite satisfactory, but I'm also using ears from the farmer's market.

It tastes like burning
As a child, I eschewed sugary cereals because they made the milk taste funny. Then again, I subsisted an entire summer on almost nothing but canned Sunshine lemonade and Oreo cookies.

Where do I go for this annoying hearing problem?
For ear pain or sudden changes in hearing, I would see my GP or an ENT.
For a detailed evaluation of hearing status with possible recommendations for hearing rehabilitation, including hearing aids, I would see an audiologist.
Some ENTs have an audiologist associated with the practice, or may refer you to one.

"Wow, look at the Boobies!"
It's a matter of degree. A post such as that once in a while is not, in itself, bz. As part of a persistent pattern that is crossed into over some shifting, amorphous threshold, it may be. Flag it and move on.
Personally, I think claims of bz are better supported by analysing the discussion around links of all kinds moreso than the links themselves.
(I refuse to preview).

right eye red left eye blue
In grad school, I noted a similar perception and asked one of my professors--a renowned vision researcher--why this was so. He told me it wasn't possible. Um...okay.
Therefore, my completely baseless hypothesis has always been varying distributions of color cones in the retinas of the two eyes. The bloodflow theory sounds promising too, except that I also get the effect while sitting up.

I think the site would be enhanced greatly by a splash page and vector graphics. I vote redesign.

Where should I go for the daily news?
I check NPR and get the headlines delivered from the Washington Post and the New York Times. Between all three I feel reasonably informed

What should I discuss before agreeing to a postdoc?
Perhaps not to ask outright: How many publications a year can you expect/are expected? How many first author pubs can you expect to have by the end of the postdoc? It would be a shame to come out of a postdoc with no better pub record than a regular research assistant might expect. At least, that would be true in my scientific discipline.

Is my girlfriend a robot?
Transient diplophonia (perception of more than one fundamental frequency component in a voice)? Can be caused by independent vibration of the two vocal folds (or other vocal structures) at slightly different frequencies. I would think that could possibly be due to 'stuff' in the throat affecting the vibration of the vocal folds independently ala 'bubble in the throat'. (Not necessarily the same, but see also throat singing).

Can I hear you now?
Barring a hearing loss, I would expect you to understand spoken langauge better in your right ear, and recognize the emotional content of a message and melodies better in your left ear, especially if you are right-handed. There is a well-documented right ear advantage for verbal stimuli because speech is primarily processed in and around the left temporal lobe and the most direct neural connections are crossed (right ear --> left hemisphere faster than right ear --> right hemisphere).... To sum up, the possible (but not inclusive or exclusive) options are: 1) you have a unilateral hearing loss; 2) your brain is wired in a non-standard way; 3) your observations are incorrect and we could put headphones on you and prove it.
Sorry for not completing my thought the first time.

ravelry.com is a knit and crochet community.
My fear is that, even though they say it won't, this will somehow marginalize the non-Ravelry knit-blog community. I've already seen a few of the currently-subscribed users moving away from their blogs. I wonder if they will come back once the novelty has worn off.
Even though I initially intended not to subscribe, I've now gotten in line in order to eventually be able to maintain access to the information I want. [It also sucks that my workplace blocks... [more]

Willow Street in Takoma was my studio when I lived in the area. I particulary like the Anasara approach that they teach there. Joe is my absolute favorite yoga teacher.

Is this hearing loss?
You could go to a doctor (particularly, an ENT); however, a good doctor will then send you to an audiologist.
