Spoider Bloke

Birmingham’s iconic, 200 foot high Selfridge’s building has been scaled by an anonymous teenage equivalent of Alain Robert (previously). A friend filmed the feat and posted it to YouTube, although local (text) news (YouTube) claims it has now been removed. But has it?

Yet another London meet-up

London meet-ups, eh? There sure are a lot of them about at the moment, but on the off-chance that any of you are not already suffering from 'meet-up fatigue', there's yet another one planned for Monday, June 11. It's a result of this AskMe thread, and is your chance to welcome lackutrol to these shores. The venue will be the excellent Jerusalem Tavern, from around 5.30-6.00 onwards.

Modern Toss. Featuring the beautifully profane, 'Mr Tourette', the all too real, 'Weekend' and the employee’s dream, 'Work'. [Not safe for work, children or the easily offended.]

Because the world needs more cans

Incredible feat of engineering or environmental disaster in the making? Despite continued protests, the Karahnjukar project rumbles onwards. Some people are desperate to see it stopped, although the Icelandic public aren’t so sure. In fact, Alcoa - the US company driving the project – is proud of its environmental achievements. Whatever the truth, there’s no denying that the area under threat contains some stunning scenery. Take a look while you still can.
