"A group of teenagers, en route to attend a rock concert, lose their way when their car runs out of fuel in the dead of night. They find themselves in an unfamiliar rural backwater where they are confronted by flesh-eating zombies and a psychotic cannibalistic killer dressed in a sheet. It could be the plot to a thousand Hollywood horror films but while these teenagers may dress, talk and smoke dope like young Americans they are in fact young Pakistanis, and the film -
Zibahkhana or Hell's Ground -
is the first modern horror film to be filmed in Pakistan."

A few years ago I acquired, through a weird set of circumstances, about 400 issues of
Dragon magazine from the early 80s. I have no use for them at all, and am trying to figure out the best way to get rid of them (for profit).

My boss purchased a rather pricey item on eBay and we have not received it. She did not request signature confirmation or shipping insurance. She did receive a USPS tracking number and, according to that number, it's already been delivered... 'cept, you know, it hasn't been. Are we SOL?

Tomorrow I sign a lease for a huge old house built in the 1800's, and I am worried about how much oil will be required to heat the place. How can this be predicted without appropriate historical data?

Refuge of Last Resort
"From August 28, 2005 through September 5. 2005, James and his family were trapped in downtown New Orleans. This documentary chronicles their journey to survive the aftermath of one of the most devastating natural disasters ever to strike a major American city. Shot entirely in Hi Def - with interviews, amazing footage from the Superdome, Airport, Convention Center as well as many areas around the city of New Orleans before, during and after the hurricane struck."
You can watch a trailer
here [mp4] and raw footage
here.

Some friends of mine were stuck in a New Orleans during Katrina, and shot a documentary on HDV centering around the Superdome as shelter. They have a page up for the film, with a trailer and stills and whatnot. These are friends of course, and I've worked with them in the past, but I was not involved in this project. Would this be appropriate FPP material, or would it be dangerously close to a self-link? Or, for that matter, would a FPP about a movie trailer just suck to begin with?

Cita Dennis Hubbell Library
The Cita Dennis Hubbell library is one of three public libraries to have reopened in the city of New Orleans since Katrina. This is a volunteer site, not officially affiliated with the library system, where people can learn about the library and its namesake, not to mention donate their time and money.
It's a work in progress, and eventually we hope for the site to become a community portal for the neighborhood of Algiers Point.
