Oh how I hate the faux-irish pubs. A MeFi Meetup will get me to one... reluctantly. Rock Band will get me to anywhere though! ^_^ I'm still not sure about the date/time yet. Will be checking back for infos. I believe the 28th will be totally fine.

I had to MeFi Mail #1 this week and ask the same question; I didn't have the huevos to post a full-on question in the grey. However, I felt like $25 was a STEAL any day of the week, and I will definitely be reppin' it at the WashDC Meetup next week.

I would totally love for some aspect of this feature to be implemented. Where I work, Firefox is verboten, because it is open source and thus: a security risk. (I know... don't try applying logic here, because that's not the world I work in). So a greasemonkey script is out. But delineating replies by the OP would help focus not only what's already been answered but what the OP finds helpful.... [more]

As an infrequent poster and daily reader of the blue I have to say I'm quite bothered by the two week limit. This is because I haven't posted a question in who-knows-how-long and now I have two questions that I needed the type of collective mindset to answer with no right or wrong answer. To be honest, what I see happening is that people will be forced out of the green and over to things like GrupThink or What Should I Say?. This is one of the best ideas I've seen in the Grey. Personally, i got a couple e-mails about how good my "Grease-man" question was, but no one was able to give a definitive answer. Which is a shame! A stumped tag would have helped like... TONS. Maybe a million tons. I wouldn't even mind if only #1 was in charge of the STUMPED tag, if there were folks worried about abuse. I think it would be VERY helpful though.

Though I had to wait forever and a day to get myself on the MeFi ("accounts are closed for now" "Metafilter is expanding" was up forever) I had started reading it years ago. Ultimately, I wanted to contribute something back. I guess for me, its being a part of a community (albeit an online one) that is the most appealing. I have to say, i've been digging the Metafilthy, but i think i came across a bug... in one of the discussions I doubleposted, which i marked and Jessamyn promptly deleted. Every time I went back to that discussion, there was a metafilthy error and it couldn't find the last read comment and would just put it at the top. Was this just me, or is it a real bug? Still loving it otherwise...

Thanks for the tips, and i mean really! Like i said, i generally don't do the MeTa; I stick to the blue and the green. So i'm learning as I go. But i hadn't seen any activity on the old thread and i didn't want to show up (ALL the way in the 'burbs, i might add!) with me thumb up me arse and... well, you know what i'm saying. I'll be there, barring any unforeseen circumstance, I'll try to wear MeFi blue and I may bring a pal along, who isn't into the MeFi yet but i'm trying to learn him.
