Podcast: The Geekly Weekly
Two childhood friends estranged for nearly 17 years team up to produce a weekly podcast. Shawn Struck & James Nieves bonded over video games in elementary school but lost touch when Shawn and his family moved away. Now almost two decades later they have reunited to find that not only have they chosen similar career paths, but their devotion to the things they bonded over still remain. The Geekly Weekly is a podcast that pays tribute to geek culture and chronicles the reunion of two old friends. From technology to biology, tabletop to desktop, video games to comic books, they make the irreverent relevant.

Going to be moving into a new office space, where will will get to redesign some of the space for our needs. We will need to set of a 10TB server rack-- need to figure out how much space should we set aside for a server room. If you were starting to set up one from scratch, what would you start considering?

I need a a script set or pages or package that will help me create a self-grade able multiple-choice quiz that someone can take online via the web, enter their name, receive a grade at the end along with what questions were missed, and automatically e-mail these same results along with the test-taker's name, to a specific email address (preferably two addresses).

My wife recently took her home-based and internet-based candle/incense/etc business into the bricks-and-mortar stage. We have a good idea on what to do for internet advertising, but need suggestions for effective local business promotion.

Site Launch: Green Dragon Candles 'n' More
My wife has launched a business selling triple-dipped hand poured candles, along with incense, crystal potpourri, and bath salts.
This is the largest e-commerce site I've tackled, and did everything from the CSS coding to php tweaking for the shop cart.
(In case you're wondering, my personal favorite is "Cherry Vanilla" for candles and Nag Champa for incense)

The Gaming Generation
I had the chance to speak with Gabe from Penny Arcade, author John Scalzi, Andrew Bub, futurologist Dr. Michael Zey and sociologist Dr. Steve Jones on how the first generation of video gamers is all grown up, and what that means for their hobby, and families as a whole.

NervousAboutMyFirstPostToTheBlueFilter: So, I was surfing a few cartooning blogs, I came across
this news story about the creator of Mallard Filmore's recent DUI address.
I was considering posting the news to the blue thusly:
"Edward Bruce Tinsley, creator of the comic strip
Mallard Fillmore, is no stranger to
controversy, nor apparently is he a stranger to irony. For while he has presented
Exhibit A in "Irony Isn't Dead" it turns out that
his recent arrest might be Exhibit B."
But before I did so, I wanted to make sure it was FPP-worthy. And who better to weigh in than Meta?
(it's my first time, please be gentle)

My wife and I bought a house shortly after we got married last year; due to various financial circumstance, we cannot afford the house, the homeowner's insurance or the property taxes this year-- heck we really can't afford to live there anymore, period. We're working with a realtor to try and sell our house, probably for even a short sale in hopes that we won't be foreclosed upon or declare bankruptcy. We just got an offer from a company that says they specialize in buying houses-- is this the answer to our prayers, or just another come-on?

What can/should you do for a co-worker in your department who only has a few weeks left to live, and is already at the hospital?
Even if you aren't particularly close, one has the feeling one should do
something. But what?

The mother of a friend of the family was on NBC's Nightly News tonight in a short segment regarding soldiers away from tloved ones during the holidays. We missed the news broadcast today, and I can't find a clip of the video.
Looking around for torrents I TV shows, I found plenty of the usual suspects (sitcoms, cartoons, etc) but nothing on this newcast tonight. Heck no places that offer downloads of new programs period.
This would really mean a lot to my fiancee and brother in law. Can anyone help me out, please?
Thank you in advance.
