stet does not have multiple spouses in varying stages of completion of the program. He has one spouse (me) who is finished, and several friends in varying stages of completion.
And he's a wimp about scheduling. But I think the scotch eggs might convince him.

Schultzy's has recently (?) acquired the next-door space, and I cannot remember what it used to be. (Not the Korean, formerly European Bakery, place; rather, the place immediately adjacent to Schultzy's.) Anyway, it's twice as big now. And still has good beer.
And wtf, white gravy on poutine? It's supposed to be brown, isn't it? I like the (pretentious? but delicious) poutine at Steelhead Diner at the market, which has brown gravy with bits of chicken in it, and... [more]

I am sad that stet and I had to leave so early, but we did make our 6:20 ferry and the chickens and ducks and dogs were happy to see us. Are y'all still at it? If not, why haven't you posted pictures yet?
I feel SUPER LAME about not having charged the battery on my little XO. I will keep it plugged in between now and the next meetup, so we can play with it, and maybe blasdelf will bring his next time too, and I can see what the mesh network thingy looks like with someone... [more]

Birding on the Bay
This is an awesome idea. I want a Seattle area one too. Someone who knows more about birds than I do should decide where to go, though.

But how the hell did I end up with this box of MeFi CDs in my car?
I ended up with an empty CD case, but the bar ended up with a free CD ...
Fun times, y'all. Thanks.

stet & I might make it down from Seattle as well -- trying to line up either dog-friendly accommodations or dog sitting up here. Anyone know good places that'll have us with two mutts?

I always thought it rhymed with framboise.
But framboise has an s on the end -- frambwaz. Though I know what you mean, that that's how I pronounce delmoi (delmwah).

Any interest in a Barcelona meetup?...
The mister and I are in Barcelona. Our brains are worn out from Spanish and we have no one but each other to talk to in English. Please hope us.
We have only intermittent internet access, so we´re making you all do the work for us. We leave on Wednesday so we should meet up on Monday or Tuesday. We´ll make sure to check here on Sunday afternoon, so if you all decide by then when and where we will go out, we´ll meet you there.
We´re staying in El... [more]

It would be nice and probably better for elr's general well-being if he was fine with his weight. But desiring to lose weight after what you percieve to be years of struggle? That sounds downright normal to me.
But seeing a professional about the mental health part of it AND continuing to work on the physical part of it are not mutually exclusive. In fact I would suggest that in this situation, the poster should not have one without... [more]

You can tell it to ask you what to do with each cookie; then you can block some, keep some until the end of the session, and keep some forever, like MetaFilter's.
On OS X, this is in Preferences > Privacy > Cookies. Allow sites to set cookies, but select "Ask me every time" from the "Keep cookies:" dropdown menu.

Damn. I keep not being able to come. That weekend is: my mother in town, with her car we're thinking about buying; stet's dad in town; my company holiday party; the weekend before the last week of classes.
Ugh.
I'd rather sit around with all y'all.

Here's an excellent example (disclaimer: he says "tell them that you're my girl, and I'm your boy") of a question that received no responses except by the original poster, and his answers would be helpful if someone were searching for ... well, a question like this. He has answers for the question; he found them himself: it happens. If someone is searching for questions with best answers, it makes sense for them to be able to find this one.... [more]

I was wondering about splitting the bill, and tristeza's solution is good but does not necessarily take vegetarians into account ... maybe two plates & two bills, so we veggies can do our silly no-food-touching thing?
Or is it just me?

Secret Life of Gravy, would you like to come be our personal cook? I'm afraid I can't pay you, but there is a nice dog who would like a third person to pet him.
Also, I'm totally in on this, whatever it's called (I quite like gourmetafilter). Mmm, food.

Seattle Meetup (Posted on behalf of warbaby)...
I might see if I can drag stet out -- he might be more willing to go if it is Lebowski-related.
As I type this, I'm at the Madison Pub in Capitol Hill playing NTN Trivia, where my screen name is Smokey: I was the Official Scribe for stet's pool league team, and after one game to which I had not been paying attention, I asked "What's the score?" and someone said "Mark it zero, Smokey ..." then someone else said "IT'S A LEAGUE GAME!!" Even in my tiny, tiny apartment, where I use my laptop on the couch, I could have gotten up to go to the bathroom and not known it if my roommate sat down on the couch, switched users, posted, and got up and went into the kitchen before I got done in the bathroom and returned to my computer. Matt, we desperately need a "My AskMe"...
I just started using Thunderbird for email and subscribed to the AskMe RSS feed as well. I delete all but the ones I want to keep checking up on for an answer (rather than because I want to contribute, like five fresh fish says). Once they've been answered to my satisfaction I sometimes bookmark them in del.icio.us.
But another way to do this would be lovely.
