When snow threatened the Cleveland Indians 2007 opening game, the stadium grounds crew was there to save the day. Watch them battle the forces of nature in this
time-lapse video. Think you can handle this monumental task yourself?
Play the game and find out.

Emilio Gonzalez, Director of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, will be
resigning next month. To mark the occasion, the
New York Times prints an
editorial exposing the magnitude of the case backlog that USCIS currently faces, and their decided lack of speed in handling said backlog. Gonzalez doesn't like the editorial, so he
blogs about it. And that's when the
comments start rolling in.

Handbags of Horror
High-fashion handbags: They're expensive and ugly. So ugly, in fact, that they could only have been inspired by monsters from horror movies. Radar compares and contrasts.

The bad news is that you're controlling a lone, unarmed tank against countless enemies, and your fuel is limited. The good news is that you're completely indestructible, and can destroy the bad guys by hurling your own tank into them.

Scott Kurtz of
PvP brings us "a sprawling epic that examines the deep inner psyche of Batman." In six pages. No apologies to Frank Miller.

Very few people will ever need to learn the value of
pi beyond a handful of digits, but some people are more obsessed than others. They call themselves
Piphilologists, and all the pi-memorization writings you could ever possibly want have been compiled into
one massive Piphilogical text file. And today, Piphilologists the world over must surely bow in tribute to Akira Haraguchi, who has just recited pi from memory to
83,431 places.

On the meaning of life... and movies:
The radiation made it difficult for me to handle solid food, and I existed on a product named Ensure, which kept everything humming along. Very early on the first morning in Cannes I woke early, as I always do, and wandered, as I always do, down to the all-night cafe by the port, and ordered, as I always do, a croissant and cafe au lait. I dunked the croissant into the coffee, as I always do, and ate it, and that was the beginning of real food again.Roger Ebert describes his battles with cancer--and his love of movies--in the introduction to his 2005
Movie Yearbook.
