New Overlord!!
Aw, it's been so long since we talked, Vaca. Here you are married, now, and even more important - A MEFI MOD. :)
Congratulations on both. Wise choice, Jessamyn and Matt.

Possibly, Secret Santa
I participated in think blank's secret santa 3 years in a row, and it was a lot of fun. I'd be up for this.

I ought to go through some day and rate a bunch of movies I'd seen before Netflix entered my life. That way I might get better (or more accurate) recommendations.
I'll break the news to my guy, Coldchef. I'm sure he'll understand. Movie compatibility is a HUGE dealbreaker.

(Oh. A while back I did some joke ratings on a Wiggles movie and a couple others and sent them to some real life friends to make them laugh. That probably didn't help, either.)

Queires margaritas?
I may show. I only skimmed the above comments, and I'm being really lazy, I know, but has anyone mentioned McP's in Coronado? They have a dog friendly patio with full food service and a bar right near it...
Can't vouch for their margaritas, but their food is quite decent.
In fact I would love to show. I have a friend in town that weekend, so it depends on what he's up for, too. I'll know more once the day and place is decided...
(Moira, thanks for the email! )

MetaSwap
When we are all camped out, ND, we'll have to discuss a shout out rule, whereby no one's photo can be taken unless they are holding a card with another member's name.
I have a bunch of junk in a storage facility, but I don't remember what all is in there anymore. Anyone else have a storage unit full of junk? We could swap keys.

I'm thinking that even if it were allowed (I honestly don't know), you'd get a whole bucket of flack for it, allkindsoftime. It'd be like, "Meh", and maybe "These were deleted for a reason" and then after several comments like that someone would post a link to meta and say, "BOTW?" and Mattamyn would go in and clean up snarky comments and/or delete the whole thing with a comment like, "We deleted these for a reason".
I'm not... [more]

I read Deleted Thread, too, for what its worth. I think cortex said it the best - if you could couch it in a related post, it would fly, but on its own, I don't think so.

Or Matt and Jessamyn could create a "whydeleted@mefi" email address that would reply with an auto responder similar to a lot of tech support email accts.
"Your [post/comment/question] was probably deleted for the following reasons. Please read them over carefully, and if you still have questions..."
Yeah nevermind.

I was behind the camera in the group pic. The waiter tried to take a photo for us a couple times, and didn't hit the button all the way. Then I went over and snapped that one.

Stunt, I live in Chula Vista, too. Yeah, I'm normally Miss Introvert, but I was struck with some uncharacteristic bravery and figured I'd shoot up a flare and see what came of it.

Ok then. Old town? Saturday? Pick a time and a location in old town, and I'm there. I haven't been there since Casa Bandini was open - I hear it closed? I can also do Sunday - my plans for the weekend are pretty non existent.

Graw. What a thread.
I am filled with utter admiration for reklaw's memory. I wish I could be so sure of everything I've ever (or never) done.
Also in the original thread it seemed people were trying to answer your question. They were assuming (at least I was) you would want to know if you were woefully misinformed about the way mail works, which implies a bit of respect for your intelligence.

Why not just random candy sent to different people each month? Matt could load up mefi, shut his eyes and click around and then stick his finger on the screen. Closest username gets candy. We'd just have to figure who will send it. Well, and the whore thing. That too.

I was with a guy for some time who bitched constantly, nagged me, rarely said what he meant, saved things up that upset him so he could bring them up in other fights...etc etc. He even broke into tears when he was one-upped and backed into a corner. I could make a list of deal breakers based on that relationship alone.
So what, does this mean he was really just a woman?
Too bad the OP decided it was a gender issue and not a relationship issue. A... [more]

I've been in for while, but man, 1k invites for mefi users is pretty decent virtual shwag. I like vox somewhat, I just haven't had much to say lately, so it's probably been wasted on me. I jumped on it because I'm a sucker for the free invites. I admit it. I wonder, though, if in a few years it'll be like gmail - everyone will have 99 invites built up but all their friends will already be in.
