I imagine they'll put it in Burlington? I can't imagine it being worthwhile anywhere else.

Thanks for working to elevate the discussion on MeFi. Please note both those were ANON posts, which means they were vetted and approved by mods.
You, on the other hand, are an prick with 5 dollars and a shitty attitude.
Ergo: YOU are the problem.

Somewhere in the misty halls of time, Archimedes looks at a potato. Such a wonderful little food. but the skin - ye gods - the SKIN. One could peel it, sure, but with dull bronze wedges? It would take all day! No, no, that's just no good. He pondered and wondered and floundered. He became the laughing stock of Syracuse, wandering around the city in a daze, eyes fixed on his glorious tuber, oblivious to all else.
When he finally looked up, his eyes fell on the mighty... [more]

jmd: most spawn timers are set on the map, and we just let em be. Trust me, playing with competent medics (of which we have about a dozen, at least) means you won't die nearly as much.

Yeah, you should really play despite lohmann's presence. BOINK!
PS: Even though it LOOKS like there are no steam events, there are. I am notoriously last minute about throwing up the event reminders. FYI - regular games occur [all times EDT]

Saturday: 2pm and 8pm

That's alright, Freak, I'm taking up the slack. And it's all bitching, too, so it's like there's no change! *rimshot!*

Yeah, I wasn't able to play last night on account of the Lost dinner with the 'rents, but I imagine after this post, a game was inevitable. The weekends are the real money games.
And, since I have a Rock Band Cookout to go to earlier in the eve, I'll get to see how the Other Half Lives when I try to log onto the server around 11 pm.

Oh, and Cavalier: Why the off site forum? It was discussed in the previous TF2 thread and stav jumped on it. Which is a good thing, because there is *way* to much traffic going on there for a single, rolling MeTa post. More than just trash talk goes on there: metagame discussion, strategy sharing, in-house tourney planning, and so forth. It's actually quite active.

Scrump Goes For Broke
I agree, Robocop. I try to pop into really solid threads and give an attaboy. I guess, I could favorite, (IF FAVORITES WERE NOT FUCKING BOOKMARKS, AMIRITE???) but the really great mefi threads seem to have almost no discussion or, if I'm very lucky, two specialists on the topic who hash it out. It also helps me remind meself:
It's about the links, not the discussion.

I went to a meetup location once, didn't tell anyone I was coming or that I went, then peed in all the drinks.
Well, that's more of a personal inside joke that's site related, but no less funny for it.

RPGs in Tucson
You know, from this AskMe I asked some time ago, I found some pretty great stuff to get games going online. (I went with TeamSpeak and FG2) There's no reason we all need to be local to play games anymore, what with us living IN THE FUTURE and all.

Cultural Biases In Education
Holy shit, I missed this until now. Wow. Late to the dance again.
Well, I'm a highly biased observer, but I would suggest that in an askme post that has a specific answer simply be answered or left alone. It's hard to blame someone for adding extra details, since it seems that 50% of poorly answered questions come about because "the asked didn't give enough detail." So, the guy let slip he wanted to use this in his class. Is the question answerable? Yes. Do... [more]

iknowizbirfmark: Your total wrongness of thought aside, you seem to be operating from a flawed perspective of what ask.me is all about. It is about the transmission of data, not about the challenging of paradigms.

I am glad I am not the only one who backed out! I thought I had a pretty interesting Hamlet rip-off on my hands, but real life and real job has intervened. I suppose I could try to puke something out in the next two weeks, but I don't think that'd it'd be worth reading.
