Help Me To Start Drinking Beer
I didn't like beer at all until the first time I tried a Franziskaner Hefe-Weisbier. So don't get discouraged if the first dozen things you try aren't to your taste, it might be lucky number 13.
Also, what Leon said, above.

In The Dark About Noir
Not movies, but the comic books of David Lapham (Stray Bullets, Murder Me Dead, and the current Young Liars) are most definitely noir.

Mael: Amazon UK delivers to the US. Before ordering, though, make sure your DVD player can play UK discs - I'd check videohelp.com for that. As for Black Books, Amazon in the US has a complete series box set.

Why the vowel buying?
Well, I'm pretty sure that in your lifetime, you're only allowed a maximum of one regular-game try at either Jeopardy! or Wheel of Fortune. As in, if you've appeared as a regular contestant on Wheel, you can never be a regular contestant on J!.I was a Jeopardy contestant and this was never mentioned. You can't be on Jeopardy more than once (unless they bend the rules for some Tournament of Champions sorta deal), but there was nothing said about Jeopardy/Wheel crossover.I can't find any good... When Nong Shim started being more conscientious about ingredient labeling and thus revealed that Shin Ramyun had beef in it, I switched over to Paldo brand Hwa Ramyun. Similarly tasty stuff.

What's this non-English version of "He Needs Me?"
OK, so we've got the language, and with that, I was able to find out that it's credited as "He Needs Me (Spanish)" on some of the internet-available versions of the demos - but who did the female vocal? I'm pretty sure Joanna Newsom does not have a time machine.

Leg cramp while dieting - can it be stopped?
I had a problem with debilitating leg cramps, until my doctor recommended drinking a Gatorade every few days. So perhaps you're low in sodium, one of the other electrolytes in Gatorade, or, I don't know, high fructose corn syrup?

I wanna be a tofu queen
Drain and cube some firm tofu and marinate it with some orange juice, soy sauce, and chili sauce. Dip the cubes in fish 'n chips batter, then deep fry in whatever oil you have laying around; corn is probably best but I usually use a canola/olive blend.
We call 'em "Tasteicles" or "Rocky Mountain Soysters."

Outdoor theater on the cheap
I don't know what a "stoll in" theater is, but are there any colleges in your area? If so, I'd bet that there are students there that are projector-rich and cash-poor and would be amenable to working something out.
Heck, if you were in Chicago, you could rent my rig

More cost data points: I got my projector off eBay for $300 and my screen off Woot for $20 or so. Both are awesome, if not the latest and greatest technological hotness. Something to think about if you think you'll want to do this more than once.

I'm totally ignorant about comic books
There are a lot of good suggestions in this thread but I wanted to throw some more attention toward middleclasstool's referral to Tipton's Comics 101. You should definitely check that out.
I would also recommend The Comic Book Heroes by Jacobs and Jones for an overview of the genre.

There's an archive edition of National Lampoon available on DVD-ROM. You may be able to track down a copy at your local library, through an online seller, or, uh, elsewhere on the internet.

Generating attraction
One thing that has been mentioned in this thread that I think bears repeating is that you need to make sure you're putting yourself out there. It's hard to find new people if you stick to your work and your home. Bars, coffeehouses, concerts and other live entertainment, volunteer work, etc are all good places not just to see people but also be seen. I met my last girlfriend at the bar trivia night I ran, and the current one at a live band karaoke night. If I'd been at... [more]

The key to Ortho's method is that to make sure each flag comes from a different IP, once you've flagged the four or five posts in your group, you need to clear your cache, restart your computer, and then go back to Craigslist.

I have never seen such admiration for an activity that is an outright violation of an American law.
Really? You should check out the threads that have to do with marijuana, visiting Cuba, or civil disobedience.

How strong of a coffee can I make?
I've done this, there's better ways to make strong coffee. I would recommend the French Press; they are cheap and last forever if taken care of, and don't require the constant purchase of filters.

And I didn't mention Young Ones, Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, or Absolutely Fabulous because I figured they're part of our shared cultural heritage at this point. Also, because I forgot.

Can I find Schaeffer Light beer in or around Chicago?
I was buying sixers of regular Schaefer at D&D Liquors on North & Humboldt back in 2003-2004. That location has closed but you might want to try their mothership store on Damen & Division (I believe). It's a small store but they've got a great selection; if they don't have it on hand they might be able to order it.
