5 goats here, too.
This is clearly a viral advertisement for arranged marriage.

Things they should have told you.
I stopped reading at the "Tall people only date other tall people" page. Stuff and nonsense, I say, and easily refuted. Hell, my (tall) girlfriend had a grudge for years about "short women stealing tall men."

We should just trade flags with Greenland. Or the Ainu people of northern Japan. They both have extra-cool flags, and honestly ours kinda sorta sucks.

I hope neither Rick Veitch, Black Flag, Jack Kirby's estate, the Nation of Ulysses, nor the Discordians get any ideas about suing me for tattoo copyright infringement.

If you'll note, that means that shots 1 through 1,833 all failed.
Kind of like Preparations A through G.

Should This Feat With No Feet Be Defeated?
Pistorius is already a champion, and a hero to me, regardless of what decisions are made about his competitive future. I don't hold the institution of the Olympics (with its bullying nationalism, money scandals, corruption, and rampant cheating) in half as much regard as I do this guy.

Boing Boing Finds 21st Century Trotsky?
So the last time I refreshed this page, I got the "This thread has been archived and is closed to new comments" thing at the bottom, and was on my way to Meta to make a WHAT. THE. HELL. MATT. post, but then I refreshed again and the thread was back open. Way to freak me out, guys!

Slangin' Liquor in the Hood
This is terrific. Brings back memories of stories my friend Craig would tell me, back when he worked at a similar store. And LOL at the people decrying the author's "affected" "character" voice.

Firefox 3: Hot or Not?
Just downloaded it. Seems like it loads pages fast, definitely faster than Safari for Windows, or, god forbid, IE. On the other hand, it left 3 shortcuts on my desktop that are being resistant to deletion.

On Kimchi
Chicago peeps seeking kimchi should go to Chicago Foods, a Korean grocery and restuarant on Belmont and Kimball. They have multiple varieties for sale, some imported, some locally made.

Impeach Dubya.
Shirts versus skins, people. They're all in the same class. Doesn't matter who wins. After Pelosi did that, anyone who honestly still thinks Dems and Reps are opposing sides on some imaginary line of scrimmage really need to cut back on the lines they're snorting cuz.. damn!

So, you think the last 8 years would've been pretty much the same all around had Gore gotten in instead of Bush?

oxford blue: I think chipr was probably referring to a Truth and Reconciliation Commission like they had in South Africa. Not quite as Orwellian as all that.

Meet Adam Chodikoff, that guy who makes The Daily Show shine.
And once he figures out what clips he wants, he places an order with the company I work for, and people like me search through the vaults and put the clips together. Thanks, Adam - everyone in the office is a fan of Daily Show and the Colbert Report, and we're pretty stoked when we're handling one of your orders.
Do you need an assistant?

A Friend in Weed Is a Friend Indeed
I smoked beer once. Beer had spilled on my last cigarette, and I had no prospects of getting any more anytime soon. After waiting several hours for it to dry out, I smoked it.
It was extra disgusting.
And I second the disgustitude of smoked beer - I tried it once, and once was enough. I do not want to drink a sausage.

Hey, one string's all you really need.
My good friend Velcro Lewis plays a diddlybow in his band. The thing sounds great.
Googly: I had the pleasure of seeing Crash Worship play in San Francisco back in '95. To this day it remains one of the greatest performances I've ever been lucky to see. I don't remember the guitar player having a diddlybow, just a giant metal horn over his shoulder that shot sparks whenever sound came out of it.

Thanks for the clarification, noway - my Spanish is limited to ordering food and what I've learned from lucha libre. I was somewhat familiar with the bawdier Mexican comics but had no idea Spain had a tradition of such as well.

"The excitement of the internet. The simplicity of Macintosh."
When the iMac came out, I was in the midst of a computerless few years, having sold my old PowerMac 7100 for food money some time ago. But I would go down to the Yale Co-Op's Apple section just to drool over the G3 Powerbooks and the iMac, and when I finally bought a new computer, it was one of the iMac DVs. Lovely computers, great looking, too, but that puck mouse got my carpal tunnel het up something fierce.
