In two months I'll be going to a conference in Denver, CO. I want to drive there. I am a new driver (at age 30, and have owned my car for six weeks). Really, I've been on a ton of long roadtrips before -- but never driving, and never by myself. Can I make the 18-hour trip?? Any tips?

GilbertoFilter? I am trying to learn the name of a specific song by Astrud Gilberto. The now-defunct Bossanova FM internet radio station used to play it. The song's catchy and upbeat (I can hum the tune, but of course don't know any of the words . .) and the main theme/message is that a woman always has to work. It isn't on the 'Finest Hour' collection, and it appears to not be referenced anywhere online . . . Might anyone know this song or at least have a good guess at it?

BigFatFavorFilter: one of my close family members has a photo in the calendar insert of the New Yorker (Dec. 13 issue). The calendars apparently only go to subscribers, though, so I can't acquire it from a newsstand issue. Would anybody be willing to send me their copy of the calendar insert? Please comment -- I'll email you with a mailing address -- and I can reimburse you a couple bucks for postage, too.
