Don't mean to offend

Oh, not to worry. Abstraction is definitely a frequent quality in what I do. I happen to like it, though I recognize that it probably has a generally negative impact on accessibility... but I yam what I yam, so I don't worry too much about being accessible. Not that there is anything wrong with it it's just... not what I've got. I'm proud to be on the Holloween soundtrack!

Yeah, these are more like sketches. My resources at the moment are extremely limited. I would love to make more fully realized recordings of many of these lyrics (I just posted a project on a site about my lyrics, btw). Some actual instruments would be nice too. But thank you very much for the comment.

A couple thoughts on your voice - first, I think you could clean up your consonants, your diction gets a little muddy. You can work on what will seem like almost overpronouncing and really spitting your consonants. You can overdo it but working on this will clean up your lines. I think you could also do some work on what I'd guess you'd call projection - putting more air behind your notes, working for a more forceful tone. I told flapjax at midnite I would upload some of my ancient stuff where all the sounds derive from analog sources. Terrible recordings made on an ancient Radio Shack boombox back in my apartment dwelling bachelor days. Historical note of interest - it turned out she was after all. And now we're married. Which just goes to show... something.

Too true, flapjax... my problem is, despite my habit of writing a lyric every day, making music for me is a s-l-o-w process. When I decided to commit to the RPM project I knew I was going to have to find a shortcut to have any chance of bringing it in under the wire. Which is why I dusted off the copy of Voice of the Goatcactus I bought years ago - not only are the instruments all synthesized, the music is all generated by relatively random algorithms...
