I love my local library, and would just like to point out that if you're on a Mac, there's a great little menubar app called "Library Books" that keeps track of your holds and checked-out items for you (it even lets you know when your books are approaching over-due-ness by the little menubar icon changing color).

I think he mistakenly believes that the word Manhattan has three T's or something—he is really putting his elbow on that second T.
"Manhat' Tan!"
And yes, it is a very David Cross Squagels voice.

I always remember the last line of the story he relates about (although not really about) horseradish:
"And now, a story. For about a decade I didn't eat horseradish. My mother served it to my sister and I when we were kids, but I never touched the stuff after I left the nest."

FYI,
I emailed them asking about the ability to export the information and a week later they responded with:
"Thank you for contacting Geni. We are working on a way for you to print / download your tree. This feature will be forthcoming. We apologize for the delay. Thanks for using Geni!

My impression of the SuperMax prisons is that one is held in a something like a concrete dorm room. If Moussaoui is going to be held in solitary/isolation I'm guessing he won't see anyone other than maybe a guard or two. I think the cells are all enclosed (not with one wall of bars like on Barney Miller) with a vertical slit in the opposite wall which shows some natural light, yet is designed in such a way that one cannot see the sky itself.... Wouldn't it be nice if Colbert's performance did for the administration what Jon Stewart's appearance did for Crossfire? Man, I would've loved to have been a fly on the wall in W's limo ride home.

The podcast Open Source just did a show yesterday on Colbert's appearance and the resulting lack of mainstream coverage.

Reminds me of the old Blazer cards that the Portland police used to give out to kids back around 1980. I recall one relating a "fast break" either to the importance of breakfast, or else it was something like "If you're with a kid who shoplifts, you should make a fast break away from that relationship".

The new buses just started running this week in Chiang Mai. Of course you still got the old 12 baht buses, the song thaews, the tuk tuks, bicycle rickshaws, and 40 or so green and yellow taxis.
