Try a couple shoots with a tripod. I know they are big, scary, and slow at first, but be patient and you will start to make better pictures. It would probably help-- though the compressed tracks will sound worse in a quiet listening situation. And keep in mind that you'll be amplifying and re-encoding the mp3 artifacts, so save them at a higher bitrate if you can.

I have a last name that is virtually impossible for Americans to pronounce correctly on the first try. I have dealt with mispronunciations since I was a little kid, and they no longer bother me. I wouldn't change it, because my respect for my family heritage outweighs my desire for a simple name. What Knave said, and I'll add that it's exacerbated by the sodium-vapor light source. That type of streetlamp puts out a single wavelength of light, so it makes the effect more dramatic. If it were the sun, the different wavelengths that compose full-spectrum light would diffract at different angles, and you would end up with a softer flare shape.

I got some incense from an Asian supermarket. 400 sticks for $1.25! It is distinct from head-shop incense, and I have been complimented on the smell. You may or may not have an issue with the hippie connotations.

I really like these. I work for the photo center at my college. Our darkroom is well equipped and pristine, so it's cool to see someone's grimy basement darkroom with all the quirks.

Surprisingly, almost all of the photo students still use film. We have an amazing digital setup with great scanners, beautiful monitors, and epson 9800 printers, but something draws students to the wet darkroom anyway. Maybe it's our old-school faculty. I'm learning how to print color... [more]

man, what a loss. Pimp C was an artist, not some fake record company persona. He was multitalented-- like he said in "Life Is 2009", he could write your rhymes, sing your hook, and make you a beat. UGK were just now getting their due after 10+ years in the rap game. He should have been around for many more albums.

Driving manual is great. You'll be bored with automatics once you start. I think there's some common mental ground amongst manual drivers-- we like to be in control, efficient, and effective. I'm not sure about the chick diggage factor, but I know that any stick shifter will respect another stick shifter a little more because of it. The large center square appears to be either raised or recessed... if it is, then there would be some kind of noticable beveled edge running through the three smaller squares and their dials. They appear to be floating.
