Not Holding Up
Definitely a timepiece but I really like it! It's reminiscent of Byrds or Neil Young stuff.

Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer (A Dramatic Reenactment)
You have singlehandedly taken a miserable, repetitive song and rescued it, imbuing it with humor and interest. Well done sir. Well done.

Deck The Halls
This is amazing music - a refreshed, modern brass-band sound. I'd love to hear what you could do with some Sousa chestnuts!

Just wanted to say me, too - this is one of the small collection of MeFi music tracks I keep returning to. It's just beautiful and unusual. I'd be interested in purchasing, too, if you have a full CD!

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
Very nice! And no, it's certainly not too soon for those of us making party playlists or mixes for gifting. Thank you!

Well, reklus, then your experience of music and your experience of the holidays are clearly different from mine and my friends'. If you don't like holiday music, it will probably always be "too soon" for you, but not for me or many others. The world is full of a wonder of things! Have a great holiday season.

As a musician myself, I don't find that Christmas and Christmas music carry that kind of baggage for me. I stay out of retail stores as much as possible and am not bothered by commercialization - it's not a big part of my life. Sorry you find Christmas music so grating, but perhaps this isn't the place to have this discussion.

All You Need is Love Unless You Have No Food
The "wah-wah-wah-wah-wah" could actually be sung using the words "and a checking account"

A lovely tribute to the world's pragmatists. Thanks.

I think so too. It's got a lot of Bob Dorough in it.

It Came Upon a Midnight Clear
Magnificent job! I'm blown away by the female vocal, too - she sounds like early Joan Baez, only even better and sweeter. Great harmonizing.

Christmas Time for Girls and Boys
This is absolutely beautiful - strong in every respect, touching, simple, fresh, and very well sung, played, and produced. Big thanks.

Venezia
Fantastic, flap - it sets into a nice groove and cooks right along. Very evocative - calls to mind reflections and ripples. Thanks!

Breaking the Rules (Rough Cut)
That is one fantastic, soulful voice you have there, Grace. I want to hear a lot more. This is excellent.

Flap knocks one out of the park once again. My music has a crush on your music! Awesome stuff. Can't wait to hear the full project.

Great panning -- that helps the effect so, so much. I also really appreciate hearing the floorboards creak.

At the Open Mic
Wow. Wow! Fighting the urge to pack up my guitar, scratch my name off the list, and quietly duck out of this big 'ol open mike.

No, really, great job - strong idea that a lot of people will enjoy.

If you wanted to do it up all crazy and cinematic-lilke, after getting a lot of sloppy handclaps down, some clinky-glass bar sounds and house chatter would really round out the scene...

Oh Death
Flap, this is FANtastic. It's so hard to bring new interpretation to a traditional song, and you succeeded admirably here. One of my favorites, as well.

So let my get this right, ynoxas -- you're saying, needs less cowbell?

Longing for Summer
Fantastic! Your production is excellent (not to mention playing and singing). I came back to ask what you were playing ...such a deep, rich sound with a bright hint of the bronze. Love it!

muddgirl: I want to, but I have trouble converting the files to mp3s. Eideteker sent me some instructions so I'll be giving it a try.

I haven't forgotten about mailing you that CD, by the way...it'll come...

Your vocals are what do this -- they've got a real sincerity of feeling. Shades of Richard Thompson, too. Excellent work.
