SPOOOOORRRRRE!!!
That's a bit more than my shop would charge, but it still sounds about right. Generally, cd drives aren't too difficult to switch out, even in laptops, though, occasionally, the manufacturer buries the screws needed to pull the old drive out. Also, there's usually a very specific set of drive mounts/rails attached to the old drive.
Anyway, good luck with the download!

Mustaches: Hot or not?
I say just try it out. Really, as BitterOldPunk said, it only takes a few seconds to get rid of if you don't like the way it looks. I'm 28, now, and I've had one since I was 15, and it looks damned fine on me. Without it, I look like I'm 15 again.
Plus, you can do fun things with a mustache. Right now, I've grown the ends out so that I can sculpt an impressive, Dali-esque handlebar-type situation.
Beards, on the other hand ... it's tough to... [more]

Macbook hinge is completely loose!
Unless you're very familiar with disassembling and reassembling laptops, I would not recommend attempting to open this machine up and check the hinges. In the world of laptop disassembly, many of the recent Mac notebooks are some of the worst. Though I don't know how much a repair would cost at the Apple store.

I'd like to explode, but can't.
I've recently got over this same problem after ten years of orgasm-free (at least on my part) sex. Stopping masturbation is probably a good step along the path. Also, incorporating masturbation with sex can yield pleasant results.
There are many reasons why some men don't reach orgasm. I know that in my case it was mostly psychological, and for a while I was just frustrated with the lack of orgasms. And the more you worry about it, the more difficult it is, so its... [more]

Thin Defence
I'd recommend Spybot: Search and Destroy along with whatever else you're using. I've found that its scans tend to pick up a fair amount of malware that other programs miss. I also recommend Spyware Blaster and AdAware (though I think AdAware has some sort of conflict with Spysweeper ... I don't remember). All three of these programs are free, btw.
Also, I'd recommend staying away from Norton. It tends to be a resource hog and can cause a number of other issues.

Paid internships while receiving unemployment?
When I collected unemployment in NY, if I worked a few hours in a week, I'd have to report those earnings during the call requesting a payment for that week (I didn't know I could make the weekly request online. Oh, and this was five or so years ago). As far as how much they take out of the unemployment payment, I'm not sure. I know they weren't just subtracting the amount I had made from what they were going to give me -- it was definitely more than that, but I never bothered to figure it... [more]

Please make my computer quieter
A fan and heatsink unit will tell you if it's for a socket 478 board, and that's about all you need to know, generally, however pulling the old one off/putting the new one on can be a bit tricky (a does require some fierce screwdriver leverage) so, if not careful, you can easily damage the motherboard. Also, you'll either need some thermal goo or a thermal pad to put between the heatsink and the CPU, else you'll find your CPU overheating pretty quickly (fortunately Pentium chips shut down if... Another thing you can do to quiet down the fan is to oil it. If you detach the fan from the rest of the heatsink, on the opposite side in the center should be a small, circular plastic panel that can be pried off (usually underneath the manufacturer's sticker). A few drops of oil in there can help quiet down a fan quite a bit.

How do home musicians keep organized/productive?
I tend to only work on songs if I know I can finish them in one sitting. Granted, this means most of my songs are short and not terribly complex, but I think that sort of goal-setting helps: knowing where I want to be at the end of a recording session. So, I'd say start with things that might be near completion, maybe. Well, that works in my case, anyway.

Physical/emotional child abuse/cult-like situation PTSD survivor, here. It's not so much that there is a lot to keep track of, but there are a few areas (like the giant hinge) I'm having trouble getting around, so it's more that I'm trying to find out if there is an easier beyond removing every single screw I see.

In this town, in fact, they'd be doing a lot better if they had a supplier for toys. At present, they don't. And, yes, it is because the paper has some morality clause.

I had a similar problem for a while, still do sometimes. For me, anyway, it's always been anxiety, as several folks have already stated. Be it performance anxiety, sudden worries about things not-sex related, or, even, worrying about losing an erection.
On second thought, Skwirl's comment seems pretty dead-on with my experiences.

Annoying, dealbreaker-level things women do in relationships
Y'know, I'd have to say that I've done most of these things listed -- denying sex as a punishment and general passive-aggresiveness, expecting others to know how I feel on issues, taking everything too personally, constant need for approval, not communicating my wants or needs, even occassionally breaking down and crying when I'm losing an argument ... most everything, really, excepting interrupting people and blaming things on PMS.
