I don't understand this attitude toward "link sites" WTF is MetaFilter if not a "link site". Often these "link sites" provide a bit more in depth commentary than what is available from the video hosting site.

It's hard to understand why a company like NBC is complaining now. They don't make much money off of their online video offerings, which are always late and pricey.

If anything YouTube's clips might make people think about watching SNL again, which I'm sure has dropped in viewers of late. NBC should be kissing YouTube's arse. (Or buying them)

I think you have to take anything in New Scientist with a brick sized piece of salt.

Thanks Malor, I'll have to try Ur-Quan Masters, looks pretty faithfull. It would be nice to see a new "re-imagined" version of StarControl II with updated graphics etc.

It was the depth of gameplay and immersive universe that made the game great. And why, in my opinion, games like Quake suck the big one. (ducks)
