Looking for a tool that can take multiple RSS feeds, strip duplicate entries and output a single feed. None of the RSS meshing tools I'm seeing seem to offer the duplicate removal. I'm subscribed to searches through 20+ feeds to make sure I catch all available references of a URL on blogs, courtesy of
MonitorThis, but the number of duplicates is becoming a big problem.

2 year old AirPort Extreme Base Station is haunted. It keeps dropping our connection to the internet. Computers show in Network Preferences as having an IP and being connected to the internet. This happens every 15-30 minutes.

What's it called when the villain of a story dies without the hero actually killing anyone directly? For instance, in Spider-Man the petty thug trips over a pipe and falls out the window and the Goblin becomes his own victim when his final attempt to kill Spider-Man backfires.

Get Back in the Box
says Douglas Rushkoff in his upcoming book of the same name.
Kris Krug interviewed Rushkoff last week just after he wrapped up writing. Apparently the author is going to explore how we're undergoing a renaissance of collaboration where identity is defined by connection to others. Douglas seems to be pulling together a lot of ideas that have been bubbling up in the blogosphere (a
connected creative/technology class,
social networks) but is business ready to hear his message? Sounds like he'll be well received by many webby people, but it remains to be seen how long the traditional definitions he challenges will remain - one generation, two maybe?
You may remember Rushkoff from the PBS Frontline series'
Merchants of Cool and
Persuaders. He's been discussed quite a bit before here on MeFi,

What's the most ever paid for a
Google Answer? The
FAQ says up to $200, but surely that must have been surpassed by now - the page is stamped at 2003. The
pricing page has the same numbers. Are there answers out there worth more than $200 to somebody?

I saw a thread somewhere on a popular blog in the past year or so talking about how when the textures on the faces of video game characters (or possibly just CG) cross a line of looking too realistic, it actually causes people to dislike them or feel uncomfortable. Does anyone know what this is called, or can point me in the right direction to find out more?

Can anyone suggest a waterproof sleeve for my newly ordered 12' iBook? I'm looking for something I can slip the iBook into before putting it in my backpack. The backpack itself offers good protection from rain, but isn't perfect. The
MacCase Sleeve says it has a waterproof fabric, but the flap only covers 90% of the opening,

Does anyone know a good open source tool for creating web directories? Something similar to the

What's the best book out there on time management? I've yet to find one that does it all: explain the key concepts of time management, provide a proven framework for gaining control of your time, and identify common mistakes and helpful tips.
Extra points if it deals specifically with any of the following contexts: entrepreneurship, running a proprietorship or small business.

into the future of their browser. Over lunch with
Robert Scoble they communicated that they're working hard on security patches. So where do you come in?

Why do my lower back muscles contract when I am cold? It is uncontrollable and often causes pain. Is there anything I can do to train the muscles to relax? Would having a stronger lower back make it worse or better?

The Vancouver Company that created
ReBoot will be making a
CGI Spider-Man cartoon for
MTV. Neil Patrick Harris as Spidey, Lisa Loeb as Mary Jane and Ian Ziering as Harry Osborn will inhabit a
"seemingly realistic neon lit city of the immediate future". Will this show set a new standard of production for cartoons based on comics? Will MJ wear glasses?

Since 1995, a growing number of researchers have hunted ghosts across 4 states as

14 year old boy dies at "tough love" boot camp
for troubled teens, after becoming so delirious that he believed indians were chasing him. he passed out from dehydration in above 40 heat and died of suspected heart failure. earlier, when he screamed that he wanted to go home

, Mr. Olympic inspector. In advance of the ongoing assesment by 17 Olympic inspectors, thousands of unwanted people have been tossed into a detention center in China, without trial. For a month, 500 to 600 people a day have been tossed in. Human Rights in China interviewed former inmates of the detention centre, and they reported
"There were no bathing facilities, food was poured from buckets and fought over by mice, and beatings with leather belts were common."
Is this what China does to "put on its game face"?

17 International Olympic Committee inspectors
are in China reviewing its bid for the 2008 Olympic Games. Should human rights concerns be a factor in their decision? Does a sporting body have a duty to use compliance with the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights as a gauge to measure hosting worthiness for any country (not just China)?

i did some snooping around on the cbc website and i found

this. the first is the graphic that they used after the liberals won, the second is the graphic they had ready if the liberals lost.
hmm, chretien looks more tired in the second one. perhaps he is looking to some martin supporters on his left, waiting to pummel him? hmm...martinites attacking from the left just doesn't make any sense!
