I can't stay logged into Metafilter when using an iPhone! When I bring up the page I'm not logged in. I log in, cool, but when I click on a thread to read comments or move to The Green or Grey or navigate to any of the site's pages I am no longer logged in--prompting me to re-log in every time I switch pages.
I am running 2.1 on a jailbroken phone.
What gives?

How to recover a lost title for a scooter I would like to purchase from someone who got it in another state? I'm in Missouri, the title was in Illinois. Simplicity is a priority.
I normally wouldn't hassle, but it is mint and the price is better than right.
Additionally--I've heard rumor about some mysterious trick involving Arkansas--that just may make everything easier.

Any idea where to find a black-and-white horizontally-striped t-shirts reminiscent of old style prison outfits--like what Elvis had in Jailhouse Rock? I've found whole costumes (jumpers, etc.) but I just need t-shirts.

Another song from yet another band I'm in, The Eric Weiler Band. Generally the quick-and-dirty go-to description many people find for us is along the lines of "Tom Waits singing for the E Street Band." Make your own call. I play the Hammond.

I'll be spending the next week in L.A. I'm from the Midwest, unremarkable smallish town with zero culinary culture. Help me find places to to eat during the trip,
but they have to be quick/take-out places.

Inspired and about the 1972 Wes Craven film of the same name, this is a live recording on stage from last week with one of my current bands, The Filthy Thirds. Props to Erich Schuchman and Lou Whitney (of The Skeletons, The Morrells, Wilco producer, and Jonathon Richman) for the fine, fine capture. I play the bass.

This is Bell Dora, an alt-country band I had until very recently. Here we are,
I'm the one in orange.
It's a bit of a ballad, and was my first foray ever into the pedal steel (a crazy-hard instrument). I used the C6 slab.

A short surf instrumental.
One of the bands I'm currently in, The Filthy Thirds, has started a side project/alter ego group called The Boogeymen. It is a horror/surf project where we mash up classic horror movie persona's with early 60's surf. We wrote all our own surf songs, our only cover being a "Wipeout" style version of John Carpenter's "Halloween" theme. Our debut show is in a couple of weeks and we will play in costume. My character is Mummy Holly.
This song gets its title from an H.P. Lovecraft book, and was recorded with a hanging mic in the basement, yet is surprisingly clear. Some lead guitar was overdubbed.

From an all-original Power-Pop group I'm currently in called
The Rugs. I played bass and keys (Hammond, Wurlitzer, Synth) in the studio but just play the keys on stage.
Our longest song clocks in at under three minutes.

So I just got the newest iMac today (the one that was announced last week).
After 4 hours or so of use the fan has kicked on in a most noisy way and it won't shut down. Restarting does nothing. Take time to let it cool. Restart. Just more fan.
So...anyone got a "here-n-now" fix or do I take it back to the store in the morning?

My cell phone is on the fritz (it spontaneously powers off half the time and only powers on with considerable effort--it's three years old) and I'm going traveling in a week and a half. I need a phone.
Like now.
Do I go ahead and pick up the Sony W810i today, or wait for an announcement from apple.
There are a few Sony's available in my area today, though they tend to go quick.

ITunes is slowly eating my music library. This is happening gradually, a few dozen songs at a time, but as surely as the humble Colorado River carved the mighty Grand Canyon, so too will the topsoil of my music collection disappear.

My PS2 is not working as a DVD player. Never has. I get audio, but the image alternates from a few seconds of program to a few seconds of brilliant blue screen. Games work perfectly.
FWIW, the PS2 is hooked up to a VHS machine (my TV is elderly) which then feeds into the Co-ax on my TV. VHS works perfectly also.

I'm looking to identify an Eighties rap song for a friend. The only problem is that we don't know any of the words and I'm only (maybe) familiar with it through an FM morning show type Parody (Vaguely recalled from my eighties childhood). Warning: May involve Reagan.

So I've tried a few apps that allow me to take large chunks of text and import them to my iPod, making an "eBook" of sorts.
The first thing I tested it with was the Mcsweeny's big old page of funny food reviews, and I liked it...

Is it considered in bad taste or a breach of policy to offer a prize or reward to whomever successfully solves a tech problem I'm tempted to post in askme? I've tried various customer support avenues and have had no luck so far.
If it is acceptable, what sort of incentive would be appropriate? Money strikes even me in poor taste. Any ideas, or should I just scrap the reward avenue?

I don't wish to breach protocol.
I found a great page that has been posted on another high profile community. That page is a .swf image I wish to print in a large size. I had planned on posting on Askme on how to do this.
I also find the image cool (and informative) enough that I thought it would be great material for The Blue-though I have reservations about posting it on both pages. Additionally this page was just shown on digg.com, so it may be old hat anyway.
So--any thoughts?

Why is it that new FPP's will show up on the Metadash widget about 5-10 minutes before they actually appear on Metafilter? I refresh, still not there, despite the fact I can read it on Metadash. Some sort of time machine?
