Mechanic Question: Even though I just changed the clutch, it
still won't start. The starter runs, the flywheel and some of the transmission is turning (I can hear it loud and clear), but it won't fire; it just spins.

Home mechanic question: changing a clutch. I'm changing the clutch in my wife's 1996 Jetta. I've almost gotten the transaxle off, but it's just barely hanging onto the engine. How do I get it off? A few more related questions inside-- any mechanics familiar with changing clutches, please help.

Scary windows boot problem: why does it reboot in the middle of every boot cycle all of a sudden? How can I save my computer without tearing it apart first?

This is the thread where we say that the "add favorites from page" icon being tested rocks.

"To me, I've always looked upon the stage as a much-hallowed place, a place of worship for real artists, as I said just before. That doesn't just stem from rock n roll days; to me, Judy Garland was a real artist, Al Jolson was a real artist, people like that gave their all and everything for the stage and most of them finished up dying for it as well. In my view, nobody should be allowed to stand on a stage unless they can present the total professional thing, unless they really can sing and really can play. Punk was a total anti-attitude towards music."NWOBHM: How a now-little-known nostalgic reaction to punk called the New Wave of British Heavy Metal changed the world.

Lately, we seem to do
a lot of googling-and-posting of whatever personal info we can find. It's publicly available stuff, but it's
proven to be a pretty powerful tool for getting to people, and it seems like using that power often might lead us down
a certain road we might not want to take. Should there be some kind of guidelines or boundaries?

This had me thinking: wouldn't it make sense to have "needs 'more inside'" as a reason when flagging posts? I flagged it, but had to put "other;" and, if memory serves, plenty of good first-time posters have had their first threads derailed by the first few "whoa! muddying up the front page there!" comments.

I grant that my first
comment in
this thread was a little troll-ish, and I'm sorry about that. I probably contributed a pretty bad atmosphere to the discussion there. But was
this really warranted?

Just a tiny request-- could
this be converted to a "more inside" post w/ a spoiler warning? It seems like the best thing to do. This is no callout, an honest mistake, but it'd be nice to fix it quick...

A
comment in
this thread reminded me of something I've always wondered about:
What about the voice of
Geddy Lee? How did it get so high? I wonder if he talks like an ordinary guy.

Is a
triple post okay if you
knew it
was one? (The person who posted this must have known, since the
search included in the post shows it.) Is it okay if there are a few more links included this time, and the text is on a different site now? Finally, is it okay if the goal is simply to elicit more discussion on the topic, as it seems to be here?
