Somewhere in between...I write and record a draft of the song, send it to my buddy who re-records a version on acoustic guitar with his vocals (much better than mine), he sends that back, and I add on the bass, drums, other guitars, etc.

ps unlike the last song I put up, these vocals are actually by my friend and co-conspirator from many past bands. i wrote it, he did the vocals and acoustic guitar, and i layered the rest over.

i think we will redo that last one as well with him on vocals.

You mentioned in that thread that you played the drums with your fingers using a keyboard--is this done through midi? (I've never used midi/keys before, but I'm intrigued with the solid drum sound you got).

Not midi. I truly do not understand how to use midi. No, this is from a cheap Yamaha keyboard, this model , where you can just dial in different sounds, like organs, pianos, horns, etc. Many of these suck, however, thr drums sound quite good... [more]
