iPoutine and iTakeout
We used to do meetups at the Big Time, which is also in the U District. They have beer (they brew their own), sandwiches, chili, and baked potatoes, but no poutine.

The Sun Is Here Seattle, Let's Have A Meetup!
I'm into it. I'll cross-post on Metachat to make sure the folks over there see it.

Congrats, fatllama. I think the first time I met your soon-to-be-spousal-unit was at a MeFi meetup at the Sunset Bowl. Or maybe it was the second. We're gonna miss ya.
I was the best "man" at my (male) best friend's wedding, and I held the bachelor party at Sunset Bowl.

I don't think the karaoke starts until later in the evening (9 p.m. or so), but I'll see if I can come by for some bowling.

I've been reading GRS for over a year (and even contributed some content once!), and I've met JD and he's a nice guy! I was really happy when I heard that he was able to make blogging his full-time job. It's the one personal finance blog I read, and it connects with me on a really personal level, which makes a difference in helping me to improve my financial habits. So thanks, JD, and congrats!

So, did you survive eating the sandwich?
I took the GPS unit to Russia and no one noticed or cared. I actually didn't have any run-ins with authority at all during my 3 days in St. Petersburg.
Gillware totally rescued my hard drive. I got every file back, it cost about $700, and they were very professional about it as well as having that personal touch that you get with a small business. I recommend them highly.
I did get the passenger side mirror from a local Junkyard in Ballard... [more]

Social Web Links On Profile Pages
Yay, thanks! You've reminded me of some services that I have accounts on that I haven't really maintained lately. I guess I'm not truly Web 2.0 compliant. Having somewhat of a life can do that to a person, I guess.

P.S. Although now everyone can see that the last bunch of bookmarks I added to del.icio.us are for plus-size lingerie shops. Kind of embarrassing. Yeah, I got a new boyfriend -- wanna make something of it?

Party RSVP for Portland
Seattleite here with a "maybe", depending on lodging. I like to drive and I can head down on Saturday and head back on Sunday. I can take folks but I would prefer them to be people that I've met and know already (e.g., Tristeza). I need a place to stay.

P.S. Someone said something about "tickets" up above (too lazy to read the whole thread). Do we need to buy tickets to Ground Kontrol or do we just show up?

Seattle Meetup June 8
I'd love to do a meetup, but I'm just going to be getting off a 14-hour plane flight from a 3-week vacation on the 9th, so I'll probably just want to go home and reacquaint myself with my bed.

Portland/SoPo Maine meetup?
Ha! Now they can't keep complaining about being left out of the Portland, OR meetups. And they even get Cortex on loan from us.

REMINDER: Short notice Portland Meetup tonight at...
I walked into the poker/smoker room to say hi to the smokers who had self-segregated, and it was pretty noxious in there. The room is tiny and not very well ventilated.
The outside room is OK, though, although I kind of missed seeing everyone who had decamped into the smoking room.

You guys should do a flickr pool like we did for the Asheville meetup (Bunnystock). In our case, we asked people to only put the best or most representative photos in the pool, so it didn't get too overloaded.
